Hosts[edit]

The hosts of the Gamer's Haven Podcast are Ethan Parker, Nathan Tolbert, and Jeremy Putnam.[4]

Ethan has been gaming for almost two decades, ever since his brother handed him a copy of the Marvel Super Heroes RPG during his fifth grade year. That drove him down a spiral of decadence, dice rolling, and dungeon mastering. He’s currently studying journalism and pre-law at UMKC. He maintains this website, runs a gaming podcast, a social club, and organizes a gaming convention in Overland Park every year. He’s got a little Schipperke named Diego that is his “tent stake of sanity.”[5]

Jeremy has been gaming almost as long as Ethan has. He might say otherwise, but we all know Ethan is the "Lord Liege of Gaming." Jeremy has a lot of experience with Dungeons & Dragons, up through the current edition(s). He's an avid fan of the West End Star Wars game, and lives in Shawnee with his lovely wife, Robin.[6]

Nathan has the least experience as a GM, but he makes up for it with a vocal opinion on many a subject. He's a fan of Shadowrun, and loves all thing Cthulhu. He's been known to give players nightmares when delving into the Cthulhu universe, and he lives in Olathe with his lovely wife, Rebecca.[7]

Gamer's Haven Social Club[edit]

In February 2009, the Gamer's Haven incorporated as a non-profit social club in order to organize the KantCon game convention located in Overland Park, KS.[8]

Gamer's Haven Library[edit]

In February 2009, the Gamer's Haven non-profit corporation began to gather and collect board and card games for use in the Gamer's Haven Library.[9]

KantCon[edit]

KantCon is a gaming convention for tabletop hobby gamers in the Kansas City area, created by tabletop hobby gamers in the Kansas City area. The only available gaming conventions and large gatherings of gamers in the Kansas City area are limited to the beginning of the year, and the end of the year, in March and November, respectively. As most gamers are increasingly busy, in school, or have children in school, there is a void of a centralized gaming convention in the summer months in Kansas City.[10]

The first KantCon was held in 2009 at a home in Shawnee, Kansas. KantCon has been held at the Johnson County Community College Regnier Center since 2010.[11]
