Internet Traffic School Currently, in states like California and Florida, internet or online based traffic school has become the mode used in place of in-class traffic schools for traffic ticket recepients to have their violations dismissed.

In California, for example, almost all individual courts allow internet traffic school for the removal of most traffic violations (such as speeding, rolling a stop sign, etc.)

Throughout the United States, internet traffic schools offer internet (online) traffic school in one form or another. Also, several states have approved "home-study" programs that utilize booklets and mixed-media such as CD and DVD content.

People are choosing to do traffic school through the internet because of the freedom it offers as you can complete the penalty requirements at home or work or even through portable devices like I pad or Android. Some schools have been active since the mid 1990's and have provided citation removals to well over 1,000,000 people.

In January 2011, the DMV of California has enacted new regulations that will take the responsibility of approving and monitoring internet traffic schools away from the individual courts and transferring them all under the official DMV website. The final deadline for this transferral will be December 2012.

Internet traffic schools also not only deal with ticket dismissals and insurance discounts but also teach/provide courses for:

Drivers Ed - For Teenagers above 13 years old and below 18 year old to get their driving permits and licenses. Adult Drivers Ed - For ages above 18+ who do not have driving licenses. Insurance Discount - For ages 55+, to avail insurance discounts. Fleet - For Company Drivers to drive fleet vehicles.
