Charles "Chazz" Miller, was born June 14, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. He is the main street art muralist behind the Motor City Blight Busters, founder of The Artist Village, in the heart of Old Redford "The Artist Village is a program of Motor City Blight Busters, a nonprofit seeking to stabilize and revitalize Detroit communities."

“Chazz is also the founder of Detroit Public Art Workz, which is an initiative to stimulate community growth, by providing a creative outlet for the youth and families with the intention on instilling an appreciation of the Arts. "PAWZ offers enrichment programs in art and technology to helps to drive academic achievement."

Biography

"Heart of Detroit said "Chazz Miller was born to be an artist. But like many kids from the inner city he did not have the support at home to move to the next level." So, moved to [[Columbus, Ohio]] to study painting and advertizing at the Columbus College of Art and Design (1981-1986). Chazz stated in his personal biography, "My artwork takes a satirical view of social, political and cultural issues. In my work, I deconstruct the psychology of subliminal suggestion, fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and religion, that make up our culture."  Having explored a diverse range of subjects such as the [[civil rights movement]], World Cup Soccer, Blues and world history.  My work represents 50 years of visual experience, creating and developing those experiences into my life's work, has been sheer joy and pain. The focus of art is to project my inner vision into the world, in the form of Public Art in form of large outdoor murals.''   

In 2010 Chazz Miller and several volunteers painted plywood cutouts of butterflies as part of the "Papillion Effect" ("Papillon" is French for butterfly"), an anti-blight campaign. Miller added several butterflies to the nature trail at Howell Park.

The paradigm shift created by the Heidelberg Project and Detroit Public Artworks aka PAWZ is a testament to the positive impact the projects have had on the city." 

DETROIT LIVES! in conjunction with Public Art Workz and Motor City Blight Busters. The project aims to paint uplifting and casually inspiring message-based murals throughout the city of Detroit. Public art as positive propaganda.
