My Life Story[edit]
Well, it all started when my mummy and my daddy shared a very special hug... [insert disturbingly detailed biological aside here]... and then, nine months later, I was born. I was a bit on the wee side, but that was the beginning of the man, the legend, the nincompoop you see before you.
I first joined Wikipedia at the grand old age of 18 and I was a utter, utter n00b. I kept bugging xeno with dozens of strange questions (still do occasionally >.>) and he somehow put up with me long enough to allow me to become the fine, young Wikipedian I am today, with no bullet holes in my temple, either. Nowadays, I tend to work best fighting vandalism (including warning and reporting to AIV), patrolling the new pages log, working to block disruptive usernames and adopting people. I also submit articles for deletion, whether through speedy deletion, prodding them or a full-blown AfD. Right now, I've received some queries about becoming an administrator, but I have some qualms about submitting myself for the horror that is the request for adminship process.
Regarding my username, it comes from Clan Jade Falcon in the MechWarrior/BattleTech universe. My one and only introduction to the universe was in MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat (though I am incredibly excited about the upcoming revival of the series). As the game stopped working with Windows XP when I upgraded, I was forced to sell it as, back then, I didn't know much about computers so I couldn't get it to work like I would be able to nowadays. Thus, when I created this username some time in 2006, I remembered falsely that Clan Jade Falcon were the good guys. Since I always played them, you'd have thought I'd remember but... (shrugs) Anyway, fortunately, I'm also a huge fan of the bad guys nowadays, so I've no plans to change my username. Anyway, if I ever sign something as "Jade," it's a simple shortening of my username. I may role-play them well, but I am not a woman.
If a person I have adopted (whether in the past or present) disrupts Wikipedia in any way, please leave a message explaining this on my talk page.

I can be online at any time nowadays, but I'm almost certainly online at any time between 10:00 (10:00 AM) and 00:00 (12:00AM) GMT. If you send me an e-mail some time between those times (and, logically, not just before the end of them), I'll probably respond very quickly. The exceptions are obviously if I'm out or eating or something like that, so don't panic if you don't get an instant response.
