Native land snails and other invertebrates, psephology, polling and politics generally (including political philosophy), chess, orchids, cowries, threatened species issues and extinctions, selected SF and other genre fiction, gonzo journalism and political satire, the goth subculture and its music past and present, the band The Church, the Tasmanian local alternative rock scene, various other bands typically defined by having "interesting lyrics", internet forums and the moderation thereof (retired from Usenet due to poor feed), and watching motorsport. He is also a former student magazine editor.

There may be something more structured and sensible here sometime perhaps. This is merely a token effort triggered by a desire that his name no longer appears in red text, to which he is allergic.
