Hello Thunderbrand/Archive01 and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

Hi. I've moved the article you created at Thunderbrand, to the more appropriate place to introduce yourself: User:Thunderbrand. If you have any questions, you can ask me at my Talk page. I see you've contributed to quite a few articles already. I hope you enjoy being a Wikipedian. Niteowlneils 02:20, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Zero Mission box art[edit]

Just so you know, the Zero Mission box art is, in fact, copyrighted, as is all video game box art. However, it would be fairuse - please don't tag it as public domain. Andre (talk) 19:34, Oct 8, 2004 (UTC)

Actually, please tag it Gamecover. I've had to go through a lot of games lately to switch them over. K1Bond007 23:02, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)

pd[edit]

Please stop mis-tagging images! Screenshots should be tagged screenshot, not public domain. Andre (talk) 18:49, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)

Question about SR-388 picture.[edit]

Are you sure that's a screenshot from Metroid: Zero Mission? I don't remember SR-388 ever being shown in said game. I don't even remember SR-388 being mentioned in Zero Mission, which took place on Zebes. I think Fusion might have had a picture like that... then again, I could be misremembering things. Could you tell me when in the game that screenshot was taken? Thanks, by the way, for all the Metroid pictures. The articles are better for them. ^_^ I'm just a little confused about the SR-388 picture's origins, that's all. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 22:35, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)

Infoboxes[edit]

Hey there Thunderbrand! I just wanted to stop by to note that infoboxes, as listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Computer and Video Games, are made so that the title of the video game is above the box art. I noticed your edit to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance where this occurred; if you've made other such infoboxes you may want to fix them (it just takes some repositioning of text and centering the image). If you want another infobox to look off of, you might want to try the one at Super Mario 64. Anyways, I really appriciate your contributions as they spread regularity and information about Wikipedia--I just wanted to point that out to you. pie4all88 21:08, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Another message for you about infoboxes: in general, we don't include "Number of players," while we typically do include "Designer," being a director and/or producer influential in the game's design. Also, we typically use box art rather than in-game screenshots. Finally, we usually don't put captions for the box art/screenshots. If you need a better infobox to copy, try one of the ones at Super Mario 64 or The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, for example. I've been making a list of pages with errors in their infoboxes at User:Andrevan/To Fix - if you're looking for something to do or want to help fix your mistakes, take a look there, and remove them when they're fixed. Also, an unrelated issue: we don't need articles for each and every Metroid location, see if you can merge them into already existing articles. Thanks! Andre (talk) 00:05, Oct 28, 2004 (UTC)

Box art...[edit]

Hello. I think you should consider carefully before replacing those logo images in the Castlevania game articles by box art images. Think about whether it's worth it or not. Also, I hope you realize all the logo images you're replacing are falling into oblivion without you even adding them to Wikipedia:Images for deletion. Those logos weren't associated with other articles, and now they're alone. Takes a good while until someone realizes that and gets rid of them.

About the logos themselves, almost every Castlevania game article has logos instead of box shots on them. Replacing all of those would be a bad call, so in my opinion, it should stay the way it was. Just a thought.

By the way, I see now you're new to Wikipedia. For newcomers, it's usually a good idea to pay attention to the way things work before trying new things. Look at the way people edit, post, and interact with everything here. Also, read the help pages. You can also ask questions to people when you're in doubt. All of that will help you a lot here, and you'll understand everything pretty fast. – Kaonashi 17:36, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Kaonashi, the current consensus in WikiProject Computer and Video Games is to use box art, not logos. I specifically told Thunderbrand this, and he's doing a good job fixing pages up. The Castlevania logos can be used elsewhere in the article. At any rate, Thunderbrand, I just came to your talk page to tell you that you're doing a good job. Andre (talk) 17:44, Oct 30, 2004 (UTC)

I don't know about this consensus you're referring to, but since you say so and you're a sysop, there's not much I can say against it. However, those articles are too small to have other images on them, so unless anyone plans on adding a lot of new content to it, those images should be listed at WP:IFD, instead of replacing them and letting it that way. – Kaonashi 17:59, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Bad information[edit]

You added a table of information to the article on Ace Combat 04 that was, for the most part, totally incorrect. It was released in 2001, not 2003; it has a rating of "E", not "T"; and finally it has other modes of gameplay than "single player". I notice you edit quite a few video game articles, so whatever source you're using for this information is wrong and you should either start using another source or double check the info. Cheers. Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for box of Maximo Games.

Re: Great Fox[edit]

Roger that. I didn't upload the picture so I really don't care. It was an orphan someone tried to put on the Star Fox page that I removed because it wasn't introduced till Star Fox 64. I'll replace it with the better image you have on the Arwing page and have the one currently on the Arwing page deleted (obsolete). No biggie. K1Bond007 05:49, Feb 24, 2005 (UTC)

Magmoor and Thardus[edit]

I see you've marked these for speedy deletion, but you haven't merged the information into the Metroid Prime article. I see no reason why this information shouldn't stay in some form within Wikipedia. Would you like to merge the contents into the main article, or would you like someone else to do so (in which case, put a mergeMetroid Prime notice on each), or do you really want the info deleted? Feel free to reply here.-gadfium 00:40, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Well, the Metroid Prime article doesn't have anything with the bosses on it. I guess the Thardus article could stay, but Magmoor should probably be deleted, since it is a minor enemy and doesn't need its own article. Thunderbrand 02:14, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)

I've marked Magmoor for deletion (it can't actually be deleted at the moment for technical reasons). Thardus had been deleted by someone else during this conversation, so I've undeleted it and removed the deletion notice.-gadfium 02:44, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for your help. Thunderbrand 04:18, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)

I notice you tagged Image:Magmoor1.jpg and Image:Thardus.jpg for speedy deletion. Since they're currently used in articles, I've untagged them. By the way, instead of having Magmoor deleted, the right thing to do is to make it a redirect to Metroid Prime. Cheers, dbenbenn | talk 23:50, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Tagging IFD[edit]

I don't know if you just forgot or what for Image:BrothersInArmsXboxcover.jpg, but when you tag an image for IFD please list it at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. I went ahead and listed this one. K1Bond007 21:24, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)

New Infobox[edit]

Currently, we believe it to be done. I'm not sure what our next step is. I guess I should throw up a message on the discussion page for whether participants want to actually adopt it as our official one. If no one disagrees I would say put it on every page we can and convert the old html to this whenever possible. It's cleaner (looks nicer), easier managed, and less susceptible to being screwed up among other reasons. K1Bond007 18:34, Mar 29, 2005 (UTC)

Lego Star Wars: The Phantom Colon[edit]

Good call on pointing me to the article, however, judging from Star Wars naming standards and the most of the official website, the colon is an actual part of the title. I'll pick up parts from the "phantom colon" article, and make it a redirect. wS 10:22, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

F-Zero - GCOTW[edit]

As far as I'm concerned my support for the article was technically a mistake. At the time I wasn't aware there was an article on the series already otherwise I wouldn't have supported it because my knowledge of the first one isn't so good. In fact I think I played it only a few times. My experience with the series is largely from F-Zero X and the one for the GameCube. I tried to address the lack of contributions a while back after I had pretty much wrote the entire article for Sony Computer Entertainment, see Wikipedia talk:Gaming Collaboration of the week#Collaboration. I think most people see "F-Zero" and think that this should be a full article on the game rather than a basic stub - so they support it. I 'll try and do some editing on the article today and tomorrow. K1Bond007 18:01, Apr 22, 2005 (UTC)

The currentGCOTW template is at Template:CurrentGCOTW. Make sure when you update it that you fill in the links for the "past" GCOTW correctly. Specifically, the link to "After" should be a link to the page before the GCOTW template was taken off so that the link goes to that version instead of whatever the current version is. We had this problem last week when someone updated it. If you have further questions, go ahead and ask. K1Bond007 16:22, Apr 25, 2005 (UTC)

Its just Wikipedia being crazy. There was nothing wrong with the category thing at Perfect Dark Zero. I double checked them all after starting the category and they were all listed in the category as well. K1Bond007 23:15, May 13, 2005 (UTC)

Star Wars Wiki (aka Wookieepedia) invite[edit]

Quake IV move[edit]

Could you please move the Quake IV article to Quake 4? The official name is "Quake 4" with the number, not the roman numeral. Thanks. Thunderbrand 15:49, May 18, 2005 (UTC)

I normally repair move failures, but this isn't like that. You can go to WP:RM and read up on the procedure to have it moved, and it'll be done in due course if there is consensus for it. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 16:29, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

Images can have multiple versions[edit]

Hi Thunderbrand. You uploaded Image:Redfactionbox2.jpg, and nominated Image:Redfactionbox.jpg for deletion. In the future, it would have been easier to simply upload the higher resolution picture with the same name, Redfactionbox.jpg. Cheers, dbenbenn | talk 20:50, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Image:MineHL2.jpg to be listed for deletion[edit]

I have decided to replace your Half-Life 2 roller mine image (Image:MineHL2.jpg) with one that has a proper naming convention (Image:HalfLife2_RollerMine.jpg). The former will be listed in Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion immediately. --25 19:20, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

Stub sorting[edit]

Hi, thanks for correctly sorting the article I just wrote. I wasn't sure how to mark it, as architecture stub seemed inadequate. Well, thanks again. Greetings from Mexico.--Fito 00:18, Jun 1, 2005 (UTC)

Your images has been listed for deletion.[edit]

The following have been listed in Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion:

They are currently orphans, and has been replaced by full-body images with a better naming convention.

However, I have decided not to list Image:Ciy172HL2.jpg, which was used in the Source engine article. This image has now been replaced by another better shot and is now an orphan, but is still worthy enough for use in other Half-Life 2 related articles. ++ 25 21:09, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC) ++

I would like to note that Image:HL2coast.jpg has now been orphaned from the Half-Life 2 article, replaced by Image:NovaprospektHL2.jpg. Given that this image is currently redundant to the topic, it may be slated for deletion soon. ++ 25 19:38, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC) ++

Merging the Star Fox planets[edit]

I was rolling through the stubs for computer and video games and came across a number of Star Fox planet articles. Most of the articles for Star Fox planets are all stubs and will probably never amount to anything more than that. Personally, I think they should be merged and redirected similarily to List of Star Wars planets or like Episodes or Characters of Lost until a point when/if they possibly outgrow the article. You, being the resident Star Fox fan, I thought I would run this by you. :) Maybe they can be expanded, I don't know, but I figure once you strip out the standard lines such as "this is a fictional planet from Star Fox yatta yatta yatta" they become almost substubs. Thoughts, comments, concerns? K1Bond007 06:53, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)

Hmm well theres three options at the moment.
1. We can fix up (overhaul would be a better word) Lylat system and merge the planets there.
2. We can have Lylat system act as a kind of overview page similar to Star Fox series is to Star Fox 64.
3. We can merge them altogether at List of Star Fox planets or Star Fox planets.
My thought at the moment is that #1 might be the way to go if all the planets are part of the Lylat system, which I bet they are, but I'm not totally sure of. I could go with any of these though, I suppose. K1Bond007 20:04, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)
Ok, given Cerinia 3 would probably be the best. Also note that there is also a Lylat System in addition to Lylat system. Both of these should be merged. I'm gonna start the page in a bit. K1Bond007 20:16, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)

GCOTW[edit]

While I'm not against changing the color, I don't think the color you picked is all that great, not to say Pink is better :) Maybe a shade of blue? K1Bond007 02:51, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)

User:K1Bond007/Temp take a look at my temp page. You can play around with the colors there if you want. Tell me what you like. K1Bond007 04:04, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
I kind of like Light yellow myself. I could go with Sky blue though. I really don't care. K1Bond007 05:13, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
If we do change I figure we'd also change Template:CurrentGCOTW to match. With that in account, I think "Sky blue" might be too much blue. (see temp again) I'm starting to lean more towards "Some sort of blue" (for a shade of blue) and my initial choice of "Light yellow". Like I said it doesn't matter to me though. I don't think we really have to notify the others. If we make a change and they don't like it then we'll make it a discussion, but I think whatever we go with (pink being the alternative) it'll be ok. K1Bond007 00:24, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

Yeah. I think he's trying to draw a line and claim that box covers are useless and not informative, although I made a few comments about the latter which in retrospect, I wish I would have worded that more carefully because I do not share his opinion that box covers aren't informative in some capacity. I could have responded better today than I did, but he seems to be the only one (maybe 2) with this idea. I'm pretty sure more of the veteran users such as Andrevan (who hosts the boxart thing) would disagree. K1Bond007 18:32, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

Soul Calibur[edit]

I only see 3 pages really needed.

 • Soul Edge
 • Soul Calibur (series would probably go here too)
 • Soul Calibur II (+III + future versions here until released).

I don't know. I'd rather fix up Soul Calibur, but it's your nom, I'll continue to support whatever. Never played Soul Edge though. K1Bond007 July 2, 2005 04:48 (UTC)

If you are going to redirect the missing HL2-related links I've been doing, could you please do it at the destination with a proper reidrect? That way when someone does make the article nobody has to go back and change all the links again. Cheers. --Tom Edwards 4 July 2005 20:53 (UTC)

I mean instead of changing Half-Life: Source to Half-Life#Development, go to the missing article and make it a #REDIRECT. That way when the article is made only one thing needs to change. --Tom Edwards 4 July 2005 21:29 (UTC)

thanks for supporting me[edit]

Hello, just a quick note to express my gratitude for your support of my RfA. I'm sure I'll become a familiar face on places like the Administrator's Noticeboard and Requests for Adminship, as well as the murkier parts of my new job. "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." (Luke 12:48, NIV) Never was a truer word spoken. I feel empowered, yes, but not in the "oooh cool delete button!" way I was kind of expecting. Already I feel the weight of the responsibility I have now been entrusted with, a weight that will no doubt reduce given time. Thank you for believing in me. :) GarrettTalk 10:33, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

Better Days[edit]

I have only a vague clue what's up with deleting the CYD review. Although it's negative, it's also both broad and specific, so a useful link.

I think that it might be because CYD is a flame site against furry fandom; therefore many furs don't want any links to it. (Saying that a site has any point, to some people, means that everything in the site is true.) I disagree with that thesis.

Thanks for creating the topic, and thanks for your support! Chip Unicorn 17:30, 29 July 2005 (UTC)

Alias - Season 4[edit]

As someone who used to edit Alias episodes (Season 4) quite frequently, what do you think of the changes I made to the top of the article? I tried to make it more user friendly by adding a navigation like table to surf between seasons in addition to creating a TOC (using a table) for the article. I'm planning on applying this to every Alias season page. I'm also in the middle of watching the first 3 seasons again so I'm hoping to fix up those plot summaries some and do a little housecleaning on all those articles to make them look more alike. K1Bond007 20:40, July 29, 2005 (UTC)

Intially I had writing credits in the table too and was meaning to take that bit of information out of the individual sections. I removed it because I felt there was too much red and I hadn't listed the directors, which would have been the only original content except for the plot summaries in the sections. It would be somewhat out of place. I couldn't add the directors to the table either because it wouldn't fit without making the table look huge, adding more red, and without removing the image which I feel is almost a necessity for the page. It's kind of an attention grabber. I figure the white space would be even worse if I would have left the TOC instead of making a table so I suppose that's the bright side. K1Bond007 21:07, July 29, 2005 (UTC)

Congratulations![edit]

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. I decided to overhaul the Eiji Aonuma article you created, and in doing so removed the picture you had uploaded of him and replaced it with my own (coincidentally identical), because yours refused to appear in my navigator. Re:SF series talk page[edit]

Yeah, I just saw the proposal. I'll think about it.

In the meantime, I have a proposal for you! I've been looking at the storyline section of the Star Fox Adventures page, and to me it reads more like a detailed walkthrough (and an incomplete one at that) more than an encyclopedic article. Would you mind if I cleaned it up a little bit? I'll work on completing it, but I also want to delete some parts of it that seem to be way too detailed (such as "He [Fox] had to pay 60 Scarabs to get there [Cape Claw] for the first time"). Thanks.

Oh, and congrats on the adminship. :) Best, Jaxl | talk 18:18, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

List of minor Star Fox characters[edit]

Hi Thunderbrand, just wanted to let you know I think the new list is excellent. Great job!

Also, I saw that you suggested Prince Tricky and General Scales on the talk page there, but I agree they should be kept separate. Tricky was in Star Fox: Assault, and there's still a small chance that General Scales may appear again in a later game. Just my two cents.

Anyway, keep up the good work! Jaxl | talk 13:05, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
