PlantDoc is a color-changing plant care tool designed for monitoring soil moisture levels.

Overview[edit]

PlantDoc is plastic-free, fully biodegradable, and color-changing soil moisture indicator for houseplants. After being placed in soil, it changes from white to green when the soil is moist, and slowly back to white as the soil dries out. It can be used with most types of houseplants. PlantDoc was created by Daphne's Botanicals, a small women-owned business in Portland, Oregon.

Features[edit]

PlantDoc is the only 100% biodegradable plant moisture meter. [1] After use, it can be composted or left in the plant pot to naturally decompose. PlantDoc lasts for 3 to 6 months depending on how often the plant is watered.

Usage[edit]

To use, simply insert the stem of PlantDoc fully into the soil and water your plant as usual. When your soil is completely wet, PlantDoc will change from white to green. As the soil dries, PlantDoc will turn white from top to bottom, mirroring the moisture in your plant’s soil.

If there is a little color at the bottom of your PlantDoc, the soil still has enough moisture for most types of houseplants. Wait until the surface and base are completely white before re-watering the plant, except for high-moisture plants like carnivorous and tropical types.

Applications[edit]

PlantDoc works best in houseplants with post 4" to 6" inches in diameter. PlantDoc does not work with air plants or plants in containers wider than 10".
