Stubbleman is the artist name of Belgian-born composer and producer Pascal Gabriel, based in London and France.

Background[edit]

After a 35-year-long career as a successful songwriter, producer, mixer and re-mixer in pop, rock and indie genres, in 2018 Pascal developed a solo project, 'Stubbleman'. A return to the electronic and ambient roots of his experimental art-school bands of the early 1980s, it combines a cinematic mixture of found sounds and field recordings with modular synthesizers and ghostly live piano.

Career[edit]

Stubbleman's debut album 'Mountains and Plains', inspired by a road trip across the USA, was released on Marc Hollander's cult Belgian indie label Crammed Discs on 26 April 2019 to very positive reviews in the UK [1] and internationally [2].

Live Performances[edit]

Stubbleman's live set incorporates an array of self-built automatons, made using solenoid motors, to strike various percussive instruments. He has performed showcases at the Royal Academy of Arts and Stanfords travel bookshop in London's Covent Garden and is part of the 2019 EFG London Jazz Festival[3].
