Richard Melvin Del Monte (born October 10, 1955) is an American financial advisor, author, podcast host, and businessman. In 1992, he co-founded Del Monte Group, LLC. Del Monte has been featured on FOX Business News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Private Opportunities Club, Private Wealth Magazine, Trust & Estates, and Family Wealth Report.[1] Del Monte is the co-host of A Place of Possibility Podcast and is the author of the family wealth book, Endless Inheritance: Moving from Feuding to Flourishing in Your Affluent Family.

Career[edit]
After finishing school with his MBA in financial planning from Golden Gate University in 1985, Del Monte started with Lincoln Financial & Insurance Services, Inc. In 1992 he co-founded his firm, the Del Monte Group, LLC, in Alamo, California. Richard quickly carved out a niche for himself as an expert on the subject of families and wealth.[2]
From 2009 – 2020, Del Monte was an Investment Committee Chair for United Way Bay Area with a focus on ending poverty in San Francisco and beyond.[3]
In 2010, Del Monte became a founding member of the Council for Shared Leadership, LLC, “which established fundamentals of excellence for values-based advisors and the families they serve.”[2]
Del Monte created and presented a TEDx talk, “A Place of Possibilities for Families and Wealth,” aimed at guiding families as they “resolve disputes, heal divisions, foster closer relationships, achieve effective communication, and establish healthy, positive objectives and methods for dealing with family wealth.”[2] Del Monte presented his TEDx talk on December 3, 2013, in Bellevue, Washington.
From 1998-2000 he hosted a radio financial talk show on KATD-AM radio in Pleasant Hill, CA.
From 2013 – 2016 Del Monte made several national and local television appearances on Fox Business News with Melissa Frances and KTVU Fox.
In January of 2015, Richard published his book, Endless Inheritance: Moving from Feuding to Flourishing in Your Affluent Family, which is aimed at helping affluent families prepare heirs to “handle the wealth they inherit and learn how to use it as a tool to achieve even greater potential wealth for their family.”[4] From 2015-2018, Richard completed a post-graduate program in Family Theory Systems,[3] which offered specialized training in family dynamics and preparing heirs.[2] Around that same time, Del Monte also became a faculty member at the Institute for Preparing Heirs.
Richard is currently co-host of the bi-weekly podcast A Place of Possibility.
Del Monte currently also resides as a Professional Advisor Committee Member for John Muir Health (joined in 2011) and a member of the Board of Directors of the John Muir Health Foundation (join 2015 and was board chair from 2018-2019).[3]
Personal life[edit]
Del Monte married his wife, Ingrid, in 1992. They live and work on their property in Alamo, California. The Del Montes have five children.
