Nice work and thanks again for the expansion. Lugnuts (talk) 07:54, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm far from an expert on Czech films/cinema, as most of what I've created recently comes from my cleanup of the films shown at past Cannes Film Festivals. Again, I'm always amazed at what films don't have articles on here. Take this article I created yesterday, for example, which won the award for Best Director! Haydn's violin concerto

Mother (opera)

You're welcome for the edits to Mother (opera) , I think your article was a good start overall and the grammar issues were minor. Wikipedia is a great way to practice a non-native language. I compliment you that you're making the effort. ejly (talk) 15:12, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Janáček references

I see what you mean. Ten (or is it nine?) are Czech originals. Would it work (and is it possible) to "double-up" the Czech references with English refs which say essentially the same thing? Haploidavey (talk) 15:19, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi. You placed the speedy delete tag on my A Faylene Sky Article. Currently there are no decent bios on the band and i am currently awaiting a message from the band with a complete bio that will take the place of the current Purevolume article that is cited there. Czechs she has known

re: Ota talk-page. Yes, she met Havel many years ago. Holub (the poet and scientist, as you said) slept in her bed - she wasn't in it, she hastens to add - on a UK tour. Quite a mum! Her favourite film, btw, is "Closely observed Trains"... as you see, there's a bit of background here for me. Haploidavey (talk) 12:59, 24 April 2009 (UTC) Oh, poor mum. She's now not sure if she met Havel or wished she had. She's 83, and her memory for names is not what it was. But she is a great mum. Haploidavey (talk) 13:36, 24 April 2009 (UTC) And she thanks you for your respects. Haploidavey (talk) 13:52, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Funny? Weird is more like! At least she has Holub's signed copy of "Fly" to prove something-or-other happened. "Closely Observed Trains" had a very big impact on its UK release - at any rate, in some circles - which I'm old enough to remember. I'd never seen anything like it before. Regarding which, I was surprised at the brevity of its wiki article... So,any ideas there? Haploidavey (talk) 13:50, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Bassoon

You're welcome, and thanks again for the titling help. I'm glad you liked them as well! The sound is really growing on me ... the first time I listened to them, it was the middle of the night, I wasn't really paying attention, and I had them all in one big file, so I thought they were pretty boring. Then the next day, I split them up and had a better listen. I found them fascinating ... I love the way the parts interact, how they go above and below each other. Their style is certainly unique. These trios should have been uploaded two and a half years ago with all of the other files from Pandora Records, but because of file size limits at the time, they were skipped. I found them on Friday night when I wanted to read more about the bassoon, and decided I just *had* to add them to Wikipedia! I've also added a lot of wind quintet music in the past few weeks, so I was on a roll, so to speak.

Checking out the music archive of my classical music radio station, ABC Classic FM, it seems that they have only played these works twice since 1995, so I put in a request for "Dance in the village pub". I hope they play it one day.

Re: Sound files and instruments, when I add sound samples to instrument articles like at viola and cello, I like to add a few files that feature the instrument in different situations (e.g. playing solo, with piano accompaniment, with an orchestra, etc). I don't like either of the versions of the Mozart's Bassoon Concerto, but it seems that the one from 1957 is the best one we have. Graham87 03:06, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Arindam Mukherjee

Hi, I've declined the speedy deletion nomination of Arindam Mukherjee as I consider the subject to be notable. Try Google Search before nominating. Check my changes, please. Thanks --Vejvančický (talk) 08:56, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Actually, i do not agree with your assessment of the article’s subjects notability. I checked his name trough an altavista search before nominating, and even now i have re-checked his name trough google i find little indication of notability. While the amount of pages found is huge, only a few are about the Arindam Mukherjee we are talking about.
I have not found a single result that complies with the wikipedia guideline on sources. The source you added to the article is a self-written source, and as of such not compliant to WP:RS. The rest of the search results (As far as they are about the subject of the article, and not about other people) only mention his name as a writer of an article.
All in all, i think that the subject does not really meet the WP:N, WP:V, or the more specialized WP:CREATIVE criteria. Yet, since there may be notability, i agree with the removal of the CSD template. The subject is not so clearly not notable that it warranted a CSD on second thought :). However, i still think that the notability itself is minimal. Ill keep an eye on the article for the next few days, to see if it should be sent to WP:AFD, or if it is notable enough to stay.
Kind regards, Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 09:24, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, he is not Michael Jackson, however, publishing in notable journals and New America Media Award prove at least minimal notability. May be useful for the readers. Take it to AfD, if you want. Thanks for your opinion, Excirial. --Vejvančický (talk) 09:49, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Those are two excellent sources you added there; Personally i see no reason anymore to take it to AFD now - there is a claim of notability, and a source to prove it. And thanks for giving me this (Perhaps unintended) gentle reminder that i should use PROD templates instead of CSD on the not-certain-remove pages. Sometimes i wonder why i just keep sliding into the habit of CSD'ing instead of PRODding those.
With kind regards, Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 10:00, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
