From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Visegrad Fund is an international donor organization, established in 2000 by the governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries — Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The main goal of the fund is to promote regional cooperation in the Visegrad region as well as between the V4 region and other countries, especially in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership regions.

The annual budget of the fund consists of equal contributions of all the V4 countries and amounts to €8 million. The fund awards grants to projects implemented by consortia of partners from at least 3 V4 countries to support regional cooperation on a non-governmental level and scholarships in order to advance cross-border mobility in Central and Eastern Europe. Since 2012 the fund received more than €10 million from other donor countries (Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States), which have been distributed through various grant schemes to projects in the countries of the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership regions.
