This user is a citizen of the United States.

He currently resides in the State of Texas.

He has resided in multiple states, has lived abroad, and has extensive global travel experience.


Academic Background and Interests[edit]

This user completed his undergraduate work with a double-major in Biology and in Psychology. This was followed by the degree of Master of Public Health.

He has taken additional elective course work in space sciences at the postgraduate level. His chief area of interest is in the field of aerospace physiology and aerospace medicine.

This user is an enthusiastic proponent of manned spaceflight under both the governmental and commercial sectors, and has previously applied for the NASA Astronaut Candidate Program.


Aviation Experience[edit]

This user is a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration certificated Commercial Pilot with Instrument Rating.

He has held the FAA Ground Instructor certificate with Advanced and Instrument ratings since 1989.

He has prior experience as a military aircrew member on the C-5A, and is a qualified military static-line parachutist with U.S. and British wings.

Aquatic Interests and Experience[edit]

This user is a certified Open Water SCUBA Diver and technical diver.

While this user is a capable swimmer, he has never engaged in competitive sport swimming.

This user is competent in the operation of small watercraft.


U.S. Military Background[edit]

He is a retired U.S. Army NCO with prior U.S. Air Force service. He originally enlisted during the Reagan Administration, and served in the first Persian Gulf War, taking a break in service throughout the remainder of the 1990's until re-enlisting into the Army National Guard in 2000.

He transferred to the U.S. Army Retired Reserve in late 2011 after a cumulative total of 21 years of active and ready-reserve service.

At varying points in his career, he has served as a radio operator, infantryman, cavalry scout, airframe repairman and flight engineer.

He has held first-line and key leader positions in several infantry and cavalry organizations, from weapons squad leader, to scout section sergeant, to battalion operations NCO and acting first sergeant.

This user is also a current senior member of the Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary), where he is a current CAP Pilot and Health Services Officer.
