History[edit]

William, born in London, is the son of Sam Yuen & Sue Tang. Both Sue and Sam were born in Hong Kong. Sam moved to London in 1975 for work. William has one sister, Josephine Yuen.

Due to his parent's language limitations and failure of his dad's fast food business, the family lived in sub-par conditions, and William helped his mother, who was a garment machinist manufacture clothing at home, and execute household chores.

Partly due to the living conditions, William suffered from chronic back and knee pain, he was later diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis [2]; weekly visits to the hospital consumed significant proportion of his time, resulting in a permanent chase and need to allocate efforts to self-education.

Education[edit]

William strongly believes that education is a life long process, and learning should never stop. One of his favorite quotes is "When there is a will, there is a way"; William financed his studies through working part-time, winning scholarships / awards, and writing for support from charitable organisations. William is forever grateful to those who have supported him.
