On 16 October 1972, a Cessna 310 aircraft transporting U.S. Representatives Hale Boggs (D-LA) and Nick Begich (D-AK), as well as one of Begich's aides, disappeared while en route from Anchorage to Juneau, Alaska on a visual flight rules (VFR) flight. No trace of the aircraft or of its occupants has ever been found.[1]
