The Native American Indian Heritage month Edit-a-thon will be held at California State University, Chico in Meriam Library on Mondays throughout the month, from 1-3 pm in the Library Education Room 226, as part of the campus wide efforts to support Native American students, Native American curriculum, and Native American sovereignty. The goal of the project is to bring together American Indian students with campus and community members to improve Wikipedia articles about Native American history, languages, culture, politics, economics, sovereignty and other related topics. We will use the Wikipedia:WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America as a guide.

What to expect[edit]

This is a gathering for anyone: seasoned contributors and newbies who want to learn. Anyone can contribute, no Wikipedia editing experience is necessary; tutoring will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers as needed. This event is open to everyone.

Reference materials and computers will be available for use.

If you are unfamiliar with Wikipedia, you can create a user profile and get a head start with this training module. If you can, familiarize yourself with WikiProject Countering systemic bias; please refer to the Wikipedia:Five pillars and familiarize yourself with the guidelines related to behavior, content, and editing.

Internet and Computers[edit]

There is wireless internet available in Meriam Library. Computers will be available for use.
