National University School of Law was a law school chartered in Washington, D.C. in 1870 and xxx until 1954.

really did exist. Some sources say it began in 1869, but there was an Act of Congress May 5, 1870 that allowed for such schools to exist in D.C. Came into being Sept. 19, 1870. It provided legal education at a modest price.

Dean/founder was William B. Wedgewood. Prominent lecturers were Joseph Casey and Arthur MacArthur.

Belva Ann Lockwood a notable graduate, having been rejected by other law schools.

Merged into GWU School of Law in 1954.

Originally located at 428 7th (NW), later 925 F Street (NW), later 1328 I Street (NW), later 816-818-820 13th Street (NW), later 1004-1006 E Street (NW) in D.C.
