Robert Lloyd Stearns was an American Navy pilot during the Second World War and a successful U-boat killer. He is credited with the destruction of four U-boats, and damaging another. He was awarded the Navy Cross and Gold Star for his actions. He was the highest-scoring/ most successful ASW pilot of the conflict.
