'Katcha is a Local Government Area in Niger State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Katcha on the A124 highway in the west of the area at9°03′00″N 6°09′00″E / 9.05000°N 6.15000°E.
It has an area of 1,681 km² and a population of 122,176 at the 2006 census.

Katcha got her Local government in the Year 1996, during the regime of Late Gen. Sani Abacha. Katcha Local Government area of Niger state has her headquarters at Katcha town. The town people who are mostly gov't workers and specialist in vocational activities, such as Fishing, Mechanic, Tailoring, Farming and above all are computer literate. Katcha local Gov't has Baddegi, Kata'eregi as one of her major towns. With Baddegi located at A124 highway in the west area. It has an area of 1,681 km² and a population of about 122,176 as at 2006 census. her post code is 912 Her people are well known to be Hard working, Dedicated and above all Educated. the leaders of the LGA are mostly from the ruling Party of Nigeria.
