The first commercial recordings of Frédéric Chopin's second and third piano sonatas (Opp. 35 & 58) were made by Percy Grainger in 1928 and 1925 respectively.[1][2] Other early recordings of the two sonatas were made by Cortot,[3] Grainger,[4] and Rachmaninoff[5]. Since then, both sonatas have been widely recorded by numerous pianists. The first piano sonata (Op. posth. 4) has been recorded comparatively less. This article lists notable recordings
