Application of energy efficiency in the construction sector is not a problem only for Macedonia but for the Member States of the European Union. Although the European Commission has a special fund for regional development with eight billion euros available for energy efficiency in housing, but so far no Member State has not availed any euro. It is very interesting. European countries currently halfway necessary to reduce energy costs 20 percent more energy efficient and use renewable energy sources by 20 percent to be completed by 2020. As explained Makedonka Dimitrova, university professor, has real chances to achieve this by 2020 and therefore react with the Commission draft directive on energy efficiency in order to improve it.
