User:Zzuuzz/recall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have been voluntarily placed in Category:Wikipedia administrators open to recall[1] since 2007, to give the Wikipedia community the opportunity to tell me if I have lost the plot and should no longer be an administrator on the English Wikipedia. Such opinions should be made on my talk page in the first instance, but I also offer this formal process:

Applicability

  • This process only applies in cases of alleged abuse of administrator rights or gross violations of Wikipedia policy.
  • A good faith attempt must be made to resolve issues on my talk page with due regard for WP:AGF and WP:BOLD.

Fast track process

  • Any four active administrators in good standing can request my immediate recall at any time.

Normal process

The normal formal recall process consists of two parts:

  1. Request on my talk page that a recall discussion is started. Four editors in good standing must make or endorse this request within a period of five days.
  2. If the request for a recall discussion is successful then I shall start a recall petition page and the new discussion shall continue for five days. The recall petition will be successful if eight editors in good standing, including at least one experienced editor in good standing, endorse the recall request.

Special cases clause

Where the matters relate to BLP policy or libel, any dispute involving politics, religion, or nationalism, or any subject or user under Arbitration (all broadly interpreted), then four experienced editors in good standing must be among those who endorse the recall petition. Any one experienced editor in good standing may unilaterally confirm that this clause applies regardless of other opinions.

Inactivity

If I make no edits or logged actions for six months, all removable permissions can and should be removed from my account. To enact this clause, contact both the Arbitration Committee (if I have checkuser permissions), and Bureaucrats for admin and other permissions.

Small print and definitions

  • Sockpuppets, currently blocked users, and proxy edits are not permitted. Unregistered users will not be counted.
  • Any user I have blocked can comment if they are not currently blocked, but will not be counted.
  • Active: At least one hundred edits in the three months before the request for a recall discussion is started.
  • Good standing: Must not be subject to sanctions or restrictions by ArbCom or the community.
  • Editor in good standing: Must be active and in good standing with at least one thousand edits and three months edit history.
  • Experienced editor in good standing: Editors in good standing with at least five thousand edits and one year edit history. Includes all active administrators in good standing.
  • Recall: As soon as is practical I will either stand for a reconfirmation RfA, or ask for the admin bit to be removed and optionally stand for RfA.
  • Criteria may be reduced in favour of the complainants at my discretion.
