Regarding Speedy Deletion
Hello, Gajdario. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia.
I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.
Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance or they fall into things to avoid or what Wikipedia is not.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written about the subject.
Sometimes articles are deleted because they contain content copyrighted elsewhere. Such content can be used as a source of information, but the content here must be completely rewritten from scratch.
Some articles contain material written in a promotional tone. These must often be written from scratch. They are vigorously deleted.
Any content that is negative in tone and unsourced or which is disparaging will also be vigorously deleted.
Any deficiencies with notability, sourcing, or things to avoid should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions.

Wikilinking[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This even applies for infoboxes.

  • Thanks for your note on my user talk page about Will Firth.
  • The way {{prod}}s work is that the article is deleted if no one removes the {{prod}} tag before seven days run out. It is supposed to save people time when it is clearcut that the article doesn't measure up to our criteria.
  • If you don't think the article should be deleted your next step is to:
  1. leave an explanation on Talk:Will Firth explaining why you don't think the article should be deleted...
  2. remove the {{prod}} tag.
  3. and, since you found explicit comments, from reviewers, about what Firth's translation added to the reading experience, it would really make sense for you to add a paragraph, or two, explicitly citing the comments, from reliable sources, about Firth's translation.
  • Often the person who placed the {{prod}} tag won't agree, and they then call for other people to be involved in a formal discussion of whehter the article should be kept, deleted, or merged.

    Yeah, I won't do that.

  • If someone who contributes intermittently realizes that an article they worked on was deleted via {{prod}}, and they didn't notice, in time, they can request its restoration via WP:REFUND. Requests for the restorations of uncontested prods are almost always honored.
  • With regard to the three quotes you provided, while they are enough to satisfy me that Firth is not an unremarkable translator, I will note how high the bar can be for some other, related, occupations. Consider the special purpose notability criteria we have for WP:ACADEMIC or WP:ARTIST. I say this only to warn you that someone else may call for the article's deletion.
