Hello, 007arindam007, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

sadipur[edit]

A village under Sadipur panchayat( block-Ranishwar, district-Dumka , state-Jharkhand, country- India). One of the largest village in this block which resides on the bank of Mayurakhi river. Several years age suddenly flood washed away the beauty of this old village. So now village location has changed from the previous place to new place and the river is about 1 KM away from the village. Dumka Suri main road has made this village popular in this district although this is not the main cause. LalBaba Ashram and an old temple which is on the hill always attracts the people and hence main road is available so people can easily reach to the Ashram. The sant is around 100 years old and people from several places like Kolkata(Calcutta) used to come to the sant mainly known as LalBaba. Several traditional puja alone with Durga puja Kali puja is celebrated over here. The beauty of this village is increased by the river hill and trees. to be continued... presented by- Arindam Mukherjee

Welcome to Wikipedia! You might be interested in editing the Dumka district article. Unfortunately we don't yet have articles on Sadipur or Ranishwar but feel free to add information about this area. You could also create these articles if you like by clicking on those red links, but I would advise you to start off editing some existing articles so you can see how everything works.
Within the articles themselves, we don't include the names of the people who wrote it. That can be found by clicking the 'View history' tab at the top. Also, don't post your phone number here since every page is publicly visible. Most of the time, you won't need to worry about using the {{editprotected}} code - this is just for in the rare case that a page here cannot be edited. Usually you would just make the edit yourself by clicking the 'Edit' tab. Tra (Talk) 17:15, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. ÐℬigXЯaɣ 16:09, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adding reference on wiki articles[edit]

Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown

Hello 007arindam007! Please do not forget to add references for the content you add to Wikipedia. Adding a well formatted references is very easy to do. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "cite" click on it and then click on "templates", then choose the most appropriate template and fill as many details as you can, this will add a well formatted reference that would be helpful in case the link web URL becomes inactive (dead/link rot) after some time. thanks and regards -- ÐℬigXЯaɣ 02:44, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 18:31, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
