It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -gadfium 20:53, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading edit summary[edit]

Information icon Please do not use misleading edit summaries when making changes to Wikipedia pages, as you did to Christopher Luxon. This behavior is viewed as disruptive, and continuation may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you.-gadfium 17:55, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gadfium, I see that you previously blocked this user for copyvio. I've just put four or their five images uploaded to Commons up for deletion over clear copyright violation, enquiring about the fifth photo. Can a user be blocked on en.WP for continued copyvio if those further instances occurred on Commons? Schwede66 22:24, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Schwede66, if they add the copyvio images to articles (or any namespace) on en.WP, then they are creating copyright violations here as well as the violation of putting them on commons, and blocks are appropriate in both places. Of course, if a different user adds an image to an article in good faith, they shouldn't be blocked if the image is subsequently found to be a copyvio, but competence is required.-gadfium 02:11, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gadfium, since your block on 7 July 2021, the user has uploaded two more images that were both copyvios (those got deleted earlier today). They added those images to articles on en.WP:
  1. On 31 Aug with this edit, they added File:GUY NGAN - HABITATION EXHIBITION OPENING NIGHT.jpg
  2. On 16 Sep with the initial edit for a draft article, they added File:Judge Mary-Beth Sharp.jpg
The user got blocked on Commons for 1 week earlier today. Schwede66 03:53, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting edits to Naenae College[edit]

Hi there, I recently reverted some edits that you made to Naenae College. You stated that a notable person attended the school and added two citations, but neither of those citations mentioned Naenae College or said where the person did go to school. I see that this is the second time you've edited this page and had it reverted due to lack of proper sources. If you have evidence that the person did go to the college, please cite that instead. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
