Request reason:

The ranges 1.46.0.0 and 1.47.0.0 have been blocked by User:Berean Hunter in response to a long-term abuser in the area of Thai guns. I'm not familiar with the case, but this seems like quite a huge range to block, potentially affecting lots of users on Dtac, one of Thailand's three main mobile operators. While users with existing accounts are not affected as long as they sign in (me included), an ever-increasing number of people now rely solely on mobile Internet access, and many potential new users may be prevented from creating accounts. If the LTA involves a specific group of articles, perhaps protecting the articles would be a better solution? --1.46.108.106 (talk) 16:11, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have an account and this is not appropriate for you to file this while logged out. You also did not do any comparisons of the edits on the ranges. Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Thai gun hoaxster is the case. I would rather block the range and keep ref hoax additions out. New accounts may be requested at ACC.

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Berean Hunter: I understand your reservations regarding the specific case and why you don't think the block should be lessened, but as the blocking admin I don't think it was appropriate for you to close the request. I would appreciate it if you would re-open the request and allow an uninvolved administrator to weigh in on the issue, or suggest an appropriate venue where a second opinion may be sought. Tens of thousands of Thai Internet users are being affected, after all. Thank you.
