Personally I feel that they should be mended, but I can see how some people might feel that certain fields which originally wouldn't come to mind as being within the discipline of applied math...using these fields combined with mathematics would be applicable mathematics, but couldn't you just say that at an earlier time, one had to merge math with physics and chemistry and biology to explain and explore phenomena? I feel that applied math should encompass all real world applications for mathematics in any discipline besides math itself (hence pure math). Maybe I am misconstrued as to the difference, but both seem to be very similar.

Welcome![edit]

Hello! I've seen some of your edits, and I really appreciate the contributions you're making to Wikipedia. I'm glad you're helping the project! You may wish to consider creating an account. It's quick, free, and anonymous (you don't have to give away any real-world information about yourself).

When you're logged in, you can do many things that unregistered users cannot, such as creating new pages, uploading images, and keeping track of changes to articles you edit frequently. It helps the community, too — Wikipedians will be more likely to remember who you are when you have an account name! If you would like to check if a username is available, you can go here.

If you want more information on the benefits of creating an account, click here. And once you've registered, please drop me a message and say hi! Don't forget to sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~). Editor-1 (talk)
