Country/sovereign state/dependency[edit]

Please refrain from obfuscating country with dependency/territory. The common definition of the word "country" is sovereign state, the term may include associated states and de facto states, but dependencies and other territories aren't generally considered to be countries. Unless necessary, country should be used instead of sovereign state as it is a simpler and more commonly used word (i.e. island country, landlocked country, peninsular country, European country instead of island sovereign state, landlocked sovereign state, peninsular sovereign state, European sovereign state). Thank you. 2001:8003:9008:1301:A0FD:19FF:9162:F8DD (talk) 09:50, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Quite the contrary the word country covers both sovereign states and dependencies/colonies. Please refrain from obfuscstions. 112.120.39.139 (talk) 10:01, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I am not saying that you are entirely wrong, but Wikipedia is a global community built on consensus. We need to respect the consensus reached by most editors. The consensus here is that:
Country = sovereign states, associated states, and de facto states with disputed sovereignty
Territory = dependencies, areas of special sovereignty, and other autonomous territories 2001:8003:9008:1301:A0FD:19FF:9162:F8DD (talk) 11:41, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Country = sovereign states, ... That's China's view, not the global view. See, for instance, the US' and Australia's response to what China did.[1][2][3][4][5] 112.120.39.139 (talk) 13:07, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly step away[edit]

Please remove your inappropriate and overweening focus from the editors and focus on the content.

No interested editor needs my permission or agreement for any change: instead, reach wp: consensus. As before: Please leave me out of all your future contemplations and seek that consensus among others.

Further, and quite firmly, PLEASE stay off my talk page.

I think you are referring to my message on your user talk page yesterday. Since the deletion of those materials from the article was never explained when you did that I think other editors would need to know the reasons why that was done before the discussion may go on. Or perhaps you would prefer to answer at Talk:Country? 112.120.39.139 (talk) 12:56, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Tamzin: Do I have the right to know why I am thought to be the same person as the HKGW? I am not and I have never been told why you think I am. I practically have no idea what I have to do to "prove" I am not. 112.120.39.139 (talk) 08:00, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You may appeal your block as described above. If the reviewing administrator does not see the similarities between your behavior (on this IP, 1.64.46.233, and 1.64.46.133) and the behavior described at WP:HKGW, they're welcome to contact me off-wiki for my full behavioral analysis. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 08:06, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why you are relating me to those two IP addresses. And I don't think there is anything similar. 112.120.39.139 08:04, 3 June 2022 (UTC) [reply]
