Thank you for your contributions to the KPHE-LP article and for authoring the Bohemia Visual Music article. Unfortunately, the latter reads like an advertisement and should be a candidate for immediate deletion, as advertising is not tolerated on Wikipedia. Instead, I will put a {{POV}} tag on it. If, however, the article is not cleaned up within five days, I will change the tag to {{db-advert}}, which will mark it for speedy deletion.

Please take some time to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies, of which neutral point of view is one of the chief five. dhett 04:40, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I commend you for taking steps to rectify the problem in the Bohemia Visual Music article so quickly. However, I had to add the {{advert}} tag back to the article. Changing from first person to third person doesn't mean it's no longer advertising. It still is. Please consult Wikipedia's policy on neutrality.
However, you have a much more serious problem now: copyright violation. It's strictly prohibited in Wikipedia, and I've confirmed that your article is a verbatim copy of the home page of the BVM website and the BVM MySpace entry. I know you're fairly new here, but verbatim copying of content is a serious violation which, if an administrator were to get wind of it, could get you blocked from editing, or in the case of repeated violations, could get you banned altogether. Please read the Wikipedia article on citing sources.
At this point, I'm going to need to blank out the article and put a generic statement in myself. I cannot allow the article to continue to exist in its present form, but at the same time, I'd rather not nominate the article for deletion, either. dhett 19:27, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Upn1.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Upn1.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 02:44, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Bvm2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bvm2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:04, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Bvm.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bvm.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:46, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KPHE logo galleries[edit]

If you are the owner of the BVM logos used in the gallery on KPHE-LP, please release those images under GFDL, or even under Public Domain. Or if you know the owner of the logos, please have them do it. Merely claiming that you have permission to use logos is not sufficient. The KPHE 44 ID slide, however, will have to go. I know that neither you nor the Crawfords own that image, as it was captured from a TV screen long after the Crawfords ceased operating the system. I captured and uploaded that image as the original article logo. dhett (talk contribs) 06:43, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not remove deletion tags[edit]

Perhaps you don't understand that copyright images need to be properly attributed. The image police, annoying as they are, are actually correct in what they're doing. Our copyrighted images, and all logos are copyrighted images, must have a fair use rationale for each use, or they must be removed. If you see an image with a deletion tag due to no fair use rationale, do not simply delete the tag. Instead, provide a fair use rationale for that image. dhett (talk contribs) 10:04, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BVM and KAZT[edit]

I had to revert your additions to the KAZT-TV and Bohemia Visual Music articles concerning BVM coming to KAZT. You did not provide any reliable source for the statement that KAZT would be adding BVM in 2008. A MySpace entry is not a reliable source, nor did the MySpace link even say that BVM was coming to KAZT. There is no such information on either the KAZT or BVM websites, either.

Even with a proper source, I would have needed to make serious revisions to your text. Wikipedia is not MySpace; you are expected to write in a formal style. This includes proper punctuation, grammar and usage. You need to brush up on that. dhett (talk contribs) 02:45, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MySpace pages, or information from any other blog, forum, or social networking site, should never be used as sources. There is no fact checking, no review process, or any other process to ensure that the information is reliable and accurate. Read the policy on reliable sources. It's just good journalism. dhett (talk contribs) 02:37, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Top-navigation-bar2.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Top-navigation-bar2.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:37, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Album 3tv sub.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Album 3tv sub.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Album wb61 sub.gif}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Album wb61 sub.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Censorship on MTV[edit]

Thank you for your contribution to the Censorship on MTV article. Unfortunately, I reverted your edit because it was unsourced; that's a problem as a lot of the videos listed there are unsourced as being "banned". Just because MTV has never played a video doesn't necesarily mean it "banned" it.--Andrewlp1991 (talk) 01:18, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:15logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:15logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not.
