November 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Tony Holkham. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Wiltshire, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tony Holkham (Talk) 19:16, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Dorset. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. TV coverage edits[edit]

Please provide proper citations for your additions to various articles about TV coverage in the UK. Also, see MOS:AMP – use of the ampersand & is deprecated on Wikipedia – and watch out for verb agreement, spelling, punctuation and duplicate links. I'm afraid the material you added to Oxfordshire was so muddled I couldn't edit it into shape (what is "main opt news"?), so I removed it entirely. Dave.Dunford (talk) 10:40, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that in your recent edits to Cambridge you used bare URLs in your references. I have added fuller citations in this edit. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:44, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to pile on, but in your media edits please remember that programme is the correct spelling for that word in British English (BrE). In computing, program is OK in BrE, but please please don't do this when writing about TV etc. Thanks! DBaK (talk) 14:51, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon The editor has again used American spelling in changes to Oxfordshire, so I have reverted the changes. This IP editor seems to be ignoring warnings, whether about citations or about spelling. - David Biddulph (talk) 11:14, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And please read MOS:REFSPACE. Dave.Dunford (talk) 14:32, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dorset, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adakiko (talk) 11:04, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your numerous citations do not support your edits of what covers what. Per wp:verifiability, the citation you add need to specifically support the statements. If you can not find one, please don't add the content. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 11:31, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I put my sources (citations) already, I had to edited 6 times because you removed the whole thing twice. I'm very fascinated about regional news in England and clearly you don't know anything about regional news in the UK. So please do not remove or delete it again. 172.195.130.203 (talk) 11:40, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those citations did not support that local news for Chichester was by BBC and ITV Meridian. The BBC link (when I looked) didn't even mention Chichester. ITV Meridian has a collection of links to Chichester news, but that doesn't mean that people watch it on television. Adakiko (talk) 01:42, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, BBC South Today covers the West Sussex town of Chichester here are some links to proof it. Chichester only gets BBC South

This isn't about whether or not those areas are covered by those channels. It is about your citations not supporting your edits. The above sources were not in your citations and is irrelevant to this discussion. Adakiko (talk) 10:50, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not good with citations when referring sources on Wikipedia. 172.195.130.203 (talk) 11:01, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you're struggling with sources, just use this code in the editor: <ref>http://ukfree.tv.maps/bbc</ref> (or whatever URL you want to cite) - that will be sufficient. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:52, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You've added a number of unreferenced claims to towns about television reception. For example, you wrote, without citing any sources, that Folkestone gets its reception from the Dover Transmitter. But this source says Folkestone uses a dedicated transmitter in the town itself. We based content on what we can find in independent sources, not editors' opinions.
