Your AIV cases[edit]

Neither of these[1][2] editors tripped the edit filter log nearly enough to warrant report to AIV. Nor did you warn this IP editor correctly.[3]. I suggest you enroll in the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy, learn proper procedure for using warning templates[4], and consider that not every IP editor is a vandal. Thanks. Boomer VialHolla! Well, they all were blocked... If they're long-term vandals (e.g., they have an extensive block log), then there is a much higher chance that vandalism will come from that IP address than constructive edits, which I already stated on your talkpage a couple of days ago... If the admins patrolling AIV didn't have this same viewpoint, then I wouldn't be making those kinds of reports. 172.58.41.130 (talk) 17:41, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That would be contrary to WP:AGF. Vandal IP editors will not always be vandals. We should be looking to looking to give editors who vandalized in the past a second chance. I can understand the importance of reporting someone to AIV if they tripped 5 filters in one minute, but if there is a gap on their edit history, as well as their edit filter log, you don't want to jump the gun. That's true, but most school/shared IP addresses will almost always bring up vandals. It is a preventative measure to keep those editors out... If the IP was static (belonged to one editor) and still had an extensive block log, than I could see where WP:ATONED would be the right route to pursue... 172.58.41.130 (talk) 17:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving block notices[5] is not appropriate behavior. Please leave that to the blocking Administrator. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 17:56, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And that was WP:AGF that they just forgot to do it, sorry. 172.58.41.130 (talk) 17:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If they forgot, then remind them. An IP editor using block templates looks highly unprofessional from Wikipedia's point of view. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 18:01, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I see little evidence to support that User:98.188.150.203 is in fact an school IPs. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 18:07, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The block says "Likely a school based on behavioral evidence". Whenever you click on the "WHOIS" or "Geolocate" links on the bottom of the IP's contributions, it shows the registration of that particular IP address. However, in this case, 98.188.150.203 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) the WHOIS] and geolocation links only show the ISP, and not the organization. I'm not sure why some IP's don't show the organization, and this is quite frankly very annoying since admins and editors alike have to assume that it is a school/shared IP address based on the very spread out (and unconstructive contributions). 172.58.41.130 (talk) 18:13, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
