Patrice O'Neal[edit]

Regarding your edits to the Patrice O'Neal entry: I understand that you like section headings, but inserting dubious, unsourced information in order to create sections is totally unnecessary. If you would like to break up the legitimate info into sections, feel free to do so. Do not revert again or you will be in violation of the three revert rule and subject to a 24 hour-ban. Instead, please discuss on the article's talkpage. Thank you. Babajobu (talk) 23:41, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a career section heading, and thereby a table of contents. If you would like to see further sections, go ahead and add them without also adding the unverified info. Thanks again. Babajobu (talk) 23:48, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information was pretty dubious...before I got to it it claimed in one place that he was born in New York City, and in another place that he was born in Boston. It said that he had a football scholarship to Northeastern, from which he received a degree. In fact he neither received a scholarship nor even played football at Northeastern, nor did he receive a degree from there. Other info just mused on his state of mind. Remember, this is a biographical article of a living person, and as such the requirement is more stringent than for any other type of Wikipedia article that information be both significant and carefully sourced. And this is doubly true because the subject is currently in the news.
I do take your edits in good faith, but you simply need to provide sources and ensure that the info is worthy of an encyclopedia in both content and tone (e.g., words should imply no value judgments either positive or negative. Also, these sorts of discussions are to be carried out on the article talk page rather than user pages. But don't get me wrong: thanks for your contributions to the wiki! Sorry, but I'm blocking you for 24 hours. As I told you, violation of the Three_revert_rule#The_three-revert_rule results in such a block. Once the block expires, you are welcome to return to the article, but as requested, please discuss disputed edits on the talk page before changing the article. Thanks, and see you again soon. One thing that might be helpful before you return to the article is to read the Wikipedia guidelines on Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons Babajobu (talk) 01:45, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
