The section on draft riots is so bad and recks of lingering Nativism it's a great embarrassment for whoever produced it. Sure, blame Irish immigrants for rioting when by far most of the city, including its immigrants, didn't riot. The real blame belongs to the Lincoln administration, which: -- passed and enforced a class-privileged conscription law -- held the draft at a time when it had mobilized the New York City militia and sent it to help defend Pennsylvania from the Confederates in June-July of 1863. The rioting stopped when the draft was suspended and the city promised to pay the exemption fee for those poor who didn't want to fight. Later in August with the remedies in place and the militia back from Gettysburg, the draft was resumed without any trouble. By far Irish immigrants won far more Medals of Honor during the Civil War than any other immigrant group.
Minor was probably never near the Battle of the Wilderness and the Union army did not use branding to punish anyone, including deserters.
