Proposed deletion of Hollander Yard Management System[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Hollander Yard Management System, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Futuro Futuro (company) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. License tagging for File:Pelmennitsa.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pelmennitsa.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:05, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

August 2012[edit]

Hello, 1927metropolis. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Futuro Futuro, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Widefox (talk) 18:51, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Futuro Futuro for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Futuro Futuro is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Futuro Futuro until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Widefox (talk) 18:55, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Futuro futuro logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Futuro futuro logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Futuro Futuro[edit]

Hello 1927metropolis,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Futuro Futuro for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, heather walls (talk) 09:08, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Several problems

  • Your article did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Your only source is the company itself, obviously not independent. If the company really is notable there should be good third-party sources.
  • There is nothing about the company - numbers of employees, turnover, profitability or history. All we know is that it's Italian but sells its hoods only in New York
  • It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: high-end... the company's commitment to innovation and environmentally-friendly technology
  • Basically, it's just telling us what the company sells, it's spam, not an encyclopaedia article

Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:33, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Remember that it's not just the referencing that's an issue, you do need to say more about the company, and not just what it sells. It's not enough to prove that it sells wonderful cooker hooks. Because of the obvious risk of spamming, good references are particularly important for a company in a way that they wouldn't be for, say, an article about an obscure jellyfish species. Most of the sites you listed appear to either be recycling material supplied by the company, or reviews of the products. It's difficult to see what makes these sites reliable sources of independent information. Follow the link in my earlier comment to see what a reliable source is. I would expect that a significant company would have been mentioned in the press or specialist financial/business publications. It's easy to produce long lists of web sites that mention the hoods, but you would be better served by two or three good references (NY Times? Wall Street Journal? or their Italian equivalents) with some real content about the company itself. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:33, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you can't find better sources, you at least need to have more comprehensive content. As it stands, with dubious sources and only talking about the products, it's a sitting duck for notability or spam tagging Jimfbleak - talk to me? 17:55, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said, something about the company - employee numbers, turnover, history, profit... Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:05, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can retrieve any version and post it to a sandbox for you, did you just want the most recent version? (no rush, I'm logging off for the evening soon) Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:08, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Wall-mount kitchen range hood - "Master" from Futuro Futuro.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Wall-mount kitchen range hood - "Master" from Futuro Futuro.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 18:00, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
