Conflict of interest editing[edit]

Information icon Hello, 193.200.201.150. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Port of Ventspils, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Request reason:

Dear administrators at Wikipedia, In February of 2021 my account was IP blocked due to not following Wikipedia's regulations (as stated in the reason of ban). I am kindly asking, if possible, to resolve the block of my account as I was creating a hand-written copy of an already existing page named Ventspils brīvostas pārvalde, but in the English and Russian variations. The information on those pages is currently either outdated or does not exist whatsoever. I would like to create a new page titled "Freeport of Ventspils authority" in different languages and for that, as I understand, a credible account is required.

If there is any other information required from my side please do contact me and I will be sure to provide any necessary confirmation of the validity of my statement.

Thank you beforehand.

Best regards, David 193.200.201.150 (talk) 09:08, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline; you need to request unblock from your account. 331dot (talk) 09:10, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Deleted page due to copyright infringement[edit]

Dear User:331dot,

If by account you mean the IP Banned account then I've tried and it does not allow me to create any posts in "talk" sections... The IP address of the blocked account is 193.200.201.150 and the blocking code is 10402685, username: DavidsVBP and the date on which the block was put is February 22nd, 2021 on 4:28 pm. That's all the information I have available on the account. Perhaps I have misunderstood what you meant, but I would appreciate any help at all in resolving this situation.

Best regards, David 193.200.201.150 (talk) 09:55, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IP addresses are not accounts. 331dot (talk) 08:43, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear administrators at Wikipedia I've tried appealing an unblock recently but it was denied due to not appealed through the blocked account, however I can not create any posts in the "talk" sections because the account is blocked... This IP address is not directly blocked. If you are unable to edit, please exactly follow the instructions which appear when you attempt to do so. Yamla (talk) 10:33, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you mean DavidsVBP is blocked, please sign in to that account and make your request there. You should not be evading your block, as you've done here. --Yamla (talk) 10:35, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Based on self-evident block evasion, I have now directly blocked this IP address for six months. Once that block expires and if you have refrained from editing, you are welcome to make an unblock request under the terms of WP:SO with your original account. You will need to address your violations of WP:EVADE, WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:COPYRIGHT, and will almost certainly need to agree to refrain from editing about Port of Ventspils and related topics for which you have a conflict of interest. --Yamla (talk) 10:39, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
