January 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from List of artificial objects leaving the Solar System. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. All articles should have short descriptions, per WP:SDNONE. Please do not remove them. BilCat (talk) 12:41, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List articles don't need to include short descriptions. That's why I removed the short description template. 195.5.3.58 (talk) 07:15, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

One of my edits, on Windows Server 2012 article was correct, because Windows Server 2012 build 9200 still supports 32-bit. See betawiki.net/wiki/Windows_Server_2012_build_9200 195.5.3.58 (talk) 12:22, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just a comment[edit]

Hello, 195.5.3.58. I've noticed that you have been editing other users' talk pages by adding in block messages. From now on (and I was also told this by an administrator), "it's best to let the blocking admins handle this the way they see fit. Also, sometimes there might be reasons we don't want to leave [block] templates at all." Additionally, I've also noticed that in one of your more recent edits, you have changed the word program to bot for an automated message. According to WP:BOT, "If you have noticed a problem with a bot, have a complaint, or have a suggestion to make, you should contact the bot operator directly via their user talk page (or via the bot account's talk page)."

On a final note, I've added a welcome so that you can explore more into how to edit Wikipedia. Tfess up?or down? 10:30, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, TFESS. I added a block template to user's talk pages because, if a blocked user needs to be unblocked, He/She can use unblock templates (if there are good reasons for being unblocked). Also, when a user block has been expired, I reminded that user not to make disruptive edits in the future to prevent vandalism. Also, I changed word computer program to Wikipedia bot because an automated revert is made by a bot (ClueBot NG for example), not a computer program. 195.5.3.58 (talk) 11:12, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
195.5.3.58, while I do know that you are trying to be helpful, I advise that you leave it up to the administrators for the block messages. The administrators do have reasons for not leaving block messages. Additionally, as I have emphasized earlier, bots are computer programs, so there is no need to change the wording. Feel free to contact the user who runs the program/bot if you have any more concerns. Tfess up?or down? 12:08, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
TFESS, articles about bots, for example ClueBot NG say that they are bots, not computer programs. The relevant article about a bot already says that a bot is a computer program. 195.5.3.58 (talk) 12:18, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have already left it up to the administrators for the block messages. But where are reasons for not leaving block messages listed? 195.5.3.58 (talk) 12:34, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I have said previously, feel free to contact the user(s) who own(s) the bot if you have concerns.
For the second point, administrators have their ways. Tfess up?or down? 15:23, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just a question[edit]

Is this edit related to this edit in any way? It seems rather coincidental that these two edits are similar within a close time frame. Tfess up?or down? 23:43, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
