I am not want to edit but didn’t Frontier Airlines also hire the first woman pilot in 1973? If so can that be apart of their article?

Tracing logos[edit]

I saw the airline logos you uploaded, amazing work! Since you traced them in Illustrator, would you mind re-uploading them as SVG? The quality would be far superior. If it's too much work, I wouldn't mind dealing with uploading to wikipedia myself, I just don't have Illustrator, and don't know how to use it. Again, thanks for the great work! --Ben Stone 12:13, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Stone, Sure! I'll look into exporting them as svg, just let me know the best way to upload them. Appreciate it! -G 19adam99 (talk) 00:44, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You can upload it to https://uploadfiles.io/ or dropbox, and post a link here. To make it easier, you can bundle them in a ZIP file. SVG files can be finicky, if you don't mind, upload just one sample SVG file, so i can double check it, instead of converting all of them and realizing they don't work. Thank you! --Ben Stone 12:16, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the first one, just as a trial to make sure my export settings are correct. https://ufile.io/wspgqfg1 19adam99 (talk) 18:39, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect! Do whatever you prefer, upload yourself, or send me a zip file, and I can upload them. BTW, this is great work, because it's hard to come by good quality logos of long gone companies. I've been doing it for quite some time! --Ben Stone 11:04, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Simple files[edit]

For an image to be non-free it has to meet the threshold of originality of the country where it was created. If it doesn't, then it can't be copyrighted. A file's Wikipedia license should of course reflect this. Please think about if a file really meets the TOO before you automatically mark it with a non-free license. For example File:Yellow Corporation Logo, February 2021.svg probably doesn't even meet the TOO anywhere in the world and I hence retagged it with {{PD-textlogo}}. For files that are below the TOO in both the country where it is from and the US then licenses such as {{PD-simple}} (for non-logos or logos without text) and {{PD-textlogo}} (for logos with text) are good. For files that are above the TOO in the country where it's from, but below the TOO in the US, please use {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} and have the country where it's from as parameter 1, see for example File:Podravka logo.svg. If you don't know the TOO, often Commons has a good page, see c:COM:TOO US, c:COM:TOO UK, c:COM:TOO Sweden etc. If you're totally unsure then it's better to guess that it's non-free but just don't do it automatically please. Anyway, happy editing! Jonteemil (talk) 19:38, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jonteemil! I recently uploaded File:MidAtlantic_Airways_Logo,_January_2004.svg paying due respect to the TOO, and I wanted to confirm with you that it was in fact the right decision. Since the logo in question purely consists of a wordmark & abstract shape, I felt it belonged to {{{PD-textlogo}}. I do see that it has been migrated to Commons though, so should logos under {{{PD-textlogo}} always be uploaded to Commons? 19adam99 (talk) 15:28, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, yes, I'd say that free logos generally should be uploaded to Commons. That way it can be used by all wikis instead of just English Wikipedia.Jonteemil (talk) 22:36, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
