October 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Picard's Facepalm. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Natalie Mars, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 14:52, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Template:Genesis, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 14:53, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't removed. I moved it to a related musicians group at the bottom of the navbox. Session and touring members don't belong in musical artist navboxes above section. Only official current and former members go in the above section. This is standard all across Wikipedia. 209.93.94.3 (talk) 14:57, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Judas Priest. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 14:59, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh get a life dude. Seriously. 209.93.94.3 (talk) 15:02, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Don't get mad at me because you do not know how to use reference tags. This edit [1] of yours tagged article text as a reference, disjointed the text from the article and arbitrarily stuck it into the references section. This kind of editing is disruptive in nature. Please review WP:REF and conduct editing test in the WP:SANDBOX. Also - ensure you maintain a tone of civility in talk pages and do not engage in personal attacks - including in your own talk page. See WP:CIVIL and WP:NOPA. Thanks. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 15:29, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Do not engange in personal attacks" bro you literally just went through all my edit history reverting tons of stuff and leaving the same message on my talkpage 3 times in a row. You're pathetic. 209.93.94.3 (talk) 19:06, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I made a total of 3 (three) reversions to your edits. Not "tons". However - several other editors have reverted many ("tons") of your edits. I also left 3 completely different messages on your talkpage - each explaining why each of the 3 reverts were done. If you would read the details of each message you would notice that they are in fact each completely different from each other - but I will surmise here for you:
  • Your edit to Natalie Mars was reverted because you did not provide a reliable source for the information you added. You cited twitter, which goes against WP:RSPTWITTER and WP:REF.
  • Your edit to the Genesis template was reverted because you did not provide a reason for the change in the edit summary (see WP:ES), and the contents of that template had been long-standing. You in turn conducted the edit again, and provided an edit summary for that edit (thank you).
  • Your edit to Judas Priest was reverted because you randomly inserted a set of reference tags into article text, which broke article formatting and generated a non-existing item in the middle of the reference section. This kind of erroneous editing and ref tagging is considered disruptive. See the WP:CITEFOOT section of WP:REF for how to properly utilize reference tags, as well as WP:SANDBOX for how to test WP functions before implementing them on live articles.
So there you are... 3 reversions, each with a different reason, and each now spelled out for you twice - but still - only for a total of 3 instead of "tons". Yes, I did indeed look through your edit history after coming across the first edit of yours which necessitated reversion. Usually when an editor (especially anonymous IP editors) makes such an edit - it is not the only one, and it is not the only which requires reversion - and further review of those edits is a common practice and a good idea. Not at all to my surprise - this indeed was the case, and I was far from the only editor who has identified issues with your edits. Each of the three reverts were explicitly explained in 3 different notifications posted as a courtesy to your talk page, as is WP SOP.
However - what isn't WP SOP is to post uncivil, personal attacks towards other users - against WP:CIVIL and WP:NOPA - which you have now done twice:
  • "Oh get a life dude."
  • "You're pathetic."
Let me very clear here: There will not be a third instance of this. You will be civil when engaging other users on WP - even if in spirited discussion or disagreement - or your WP access will sanctioned. Incivility is not tolerated.
I would encourage you to spend some time reviewing WP:WELCOME and WP:NEWBIE to better familiarize yourself with contributing to the project & articles, and WP:REGISTER to help you consider creating a user account instead of continuing to edit from an IP address.
Past that - I am happy to further discuss or answer anything if you wish - but only in a civilized manner.
Thanks, welcome WP, and good luck. -- Picard's Facepalm (talk) 15:16, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You're not paying attention. We will just escalate this instead. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 18:01, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
