Go to www.idu.org/members and click on the United States it will verify position. It is the official site of the organization. Please read the full article and look at the official site I sent you and it is also linked in article. You will see that Republican Party is the member party for the United States in the International Democrat Union. The Republican Party is a Center-Right to Right of Center Party and the Democratic Party is a Center-Left to Left of Center Party.
