August 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm CLCStudent. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to User talk:Amaury have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the help desk. Thanks. CLCStudent (talk) 19:51, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
@CLCStudent: I reverted you and used the edit summary to explain your error. It's not possible to reasonably construe my edit as done in bad faith and even if you thought it was a gray area, you're not allowed to use rollback because it's only for blatant vandalism. 2600:1700:B7A1:9A30:A4EE:4873:FD0E:E744 (talk) 19:55, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've got to agree with Amaury that something's going on here. I'm not going to go around reverting your edits, but this does strike me as a WP:DUCK situation. pbp 20:32, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Purplebackpack89: Regarding WP:DUCK: I had a Wikipedia account but maintaining it in the faces of Wikipedia's worst editors and their immortal grudges became too much of a chore. I like editing like this because I can call out bad actors without them following me around, which, let me repeat, there are lots of longtime editors on here who will do this for years. These days, I just patrol noticeboards and articles and do things I think need to be done. That's what I did here, nothing more, nothing less. Feel free to request a CheckUser because I'm not User:LTPHarry, the other IP editor, or anyone else who's participated in that discussion. Or maybe don't bother because this IP is entirely disposable and I won't be around this talk page to accept your apology when the CU proves your suspicion was unfounded.
I'm surprised you aren't noticing that User:Amaury is deflecting because since his inflammatory, likely incorrect attacks on LTPHarry, that's all he's done. He was deflecting when he made completely inappropriate use of Rollback to revert messages asking him what he was doing, he was deflecting when instead of explaining what he was doing he just kept demanding to be treated better or yelled at by an admin rather than a non-admin, and he was deflecting when he popped off about my entirely error-free message at his talk rather than provide evidence LTPHarry is a sockpuppet. Nothing I said was wrong. Amaury owes LTPHarry an apology. I bet you know this but as a formerly logged-in editor, I damn sure know how badly and unfairly you can expect to be treated if you side with an IP over a veteran. 2600:1700:B7A1:9A30:A4EE:4873:FD0E:E744 (talk) 22:15, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The IP user who thinks that Amaury should apologise to me isn't me ether. She can apologise if she wants to, that is as I’m not going to her talk page right now. Luigitehplumber (talk) 23:00, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
