Lvl 1 warning: (Terry Smiljanich)[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Raul Morar III. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Terry Smiljanich have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Raul Morar III (talk) 15:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I may be mistaken, but all I recognize as having been undone by you are the archive links that I added to a few previously existing (not new) citations. I did so because of the following instruction at Help:Archiving a source#Internet Archive Wayback Machine: "Editors are encouraged to add an archive link as a part of each citation, or at least submit the referenced URL for archiving, at the same time that each citation is created or updated. New URLs added to Wikipedia articles (but not other pages) are usually automatically archived by a bot." If I am misunderstanding something, I am all ears. 2603:9000:EB00:BA7:D1E7:4EA2:F681:FE2B (talk) 16:11, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
According to English Wikipedia's policies & guidelines, I believe you are correct & that Raul Morar III made an error in reverting your edits. Peaceray (talk) 17:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for confirming my understanding of the policies/guidelines, but I now think I misinterpreted what Raul did and thus misrepresented the situation. I could have sworn that after seeing his "Warning," all of the archive dates that I added this morning were gone even after refreshing my screen. But I see that they are present now, and unless I am confused by the "View history" entries, his only action was that he "Undid" (at 15:15) the revision that I had already almost immediately realized was unnecessary and had "Reverted" myself three minutes earlier (15:12). If I am mistaken, please clarify, as I wish to fully understand the reason for the "Warning" if indeed it was warranted. 2603:9000:EB00:BA7:D1E7:4EA2:F681:FE2B (talk) 18:17, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I believe Raul Morar III's warning was unwarranted. I have not reverted it because we have made subsequent comments to it, so my removal would violate WP:TALKO. However, you, 2603:9000:EB00:BA7:D1E7:4EA2:F681:FE2B, may archive or remove it as per WP:OWNTALK. Peaceray (talk) 18:25, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
