August 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Padgriffin. I noticed that in this edit to Standpoint theory, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 03:01, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the reply. I left a note clearly explaining and completely justifying the edit, per Wikipedia rules, in the 'comment' field. Please check that field and you will understand. 2604:3D08:787A:5400:E149:689:CE68:7276 (talk) 03:03, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Standpoint theory. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 03:15, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Standpoint theory shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. There is no edit war. You are repeatedly re-adding the content that shouldn't be there. This is really simple. Just read the edit and you'll come to the same conclusion: this is an opinion and it could be encyclopedic if it were sourced, but it is not sourced, so the solution is to remove it (because it isn't encycopedic) or to find a suitable citation. I cannot find a citation, and I have looked, so I deleted it. STOP. 2604:3D08:787A:5400:E149:689:CE68:7276 (talk) 03:21, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:3RR states that you may not make more than 3 reverts on a single page over a 24 hour period. You have clearly exceeded that rule. The content should remain per WP:STATUSQUO, and only removed after discussion on the talk page (note that you were already reverted by another editor on the 26th), which you have failed to do. You are the one who keeps deleting the content that is breaking wikipedia rules... Please explain your edit. This is very black and white. You are being a massive troll. Stop. 2604:3D08:787A:5400:E149:689:CE68:7276 (talk) 03:29, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
