October 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Bayes' theorem, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please feel free to participate in the discussion regarding this image, happening at the article's talk page. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 16:21, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon @49.228.246.58: Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Bayes' theorem, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. I am not trying to engage in an edit war with you here. Again, I am inviting you to join the discussion on the talk page for Bayes' theorem regarding this image. A consensus has not yet been reached regarding the removal or inclusion of this image. Additionally, it was your edit that I marked as being done in good faith, not the image itself — That Coptic Guy (talk) 16:35, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To the IP user 49.228.246.58: You're welcome to contribute to the discussion on the article's talk page here if you feel that there should be a change made to the image used in that section. In fact, one should've been started back in September as opposed to engaging in an edit war. ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 16:48, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Oshwah, ah sorry, should've labelled the warning differently. Agree with you there. It's just edit warring here. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 16:51, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That Coptic Guy - No worries, my friend! I removed that part of my response pinging you, since I didn't notice the custom message that you added to it beforehand. Edit warring and uncivil edit summaries are disruptive, so... :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 16:56, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. WindTempos (talkcontribs) 16:42, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that edit summary was not civil. Please don't do that... :-/ ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 16:48, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • (edit conflict) Just to note, I am raising @WindTempos:'s warning to a final one. Calling editors "sociopaths" is not acceptable. Raise it further on the talk page, and seek the methods under dispute resolution if those on the talk page can't resolve it amongst yourselves. Nosebagbear (talk) 16:49, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nosebagbear - That edit conflict was probably me; sorry about that. :-) Anyways, I wanted to thank you for keeping an eye on this. I've protected the article due to this ongoing dispute in hopes that it will encourage discussion while stopping the edit warring and disruption. :-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 16:52, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
