In this edit you made, you say that you did it because:

"Removing misleading statement not backed up by source; additionally controversial statements by political opponents need to be well sourced and explained for BLP."

I looked at the source myself ( https://www.scmp.com/article/647320/regina-ip-really-sorry-siding-beijing-police ) and the source does, in my opinion, back the so-called "misleading" statement.
