Looking at the edit history, it seems like User:Fg2 placed the photo [[File:ClarkBoysBeAmbitiousCropped.jpg]] on the website. I think when it comes to using the image, you have full rights to use it since it was uploaded and released into the public domain.

I know you are new here so I thought you might want to know this. Generally communications between people on this site use the talk page. It is frowned upon by others {but not me} to use other means to communicate. I would like to thank you for your unusual cordiality on this site, as most users are pretty informal these days. Also, don't forget to sign your messages with: ~~~~.

Just so you know, there is a WikiProject on this site for Umass schools. I can send you the link should you be interested.

Katie, Kevin is right, the picture was contributed by User:Fg2, a terrific photographic contributor to Wikipedia on Japanese subjects. If you click on the photo, you'll get through to a page that gives the details. It is in the public domain, so you can use it without asking anyone's permission, but I'm sure Fg2 would be pleased to be told you are using it. Hi Katie, and thanks for the kind words. The photo you mentioned was cropped from a slide I took on a trip to Sapporo (was it 1992?), and I was able to locate a scan of the complete slide. I've uploaded it with the name File:ClarkPhoto.jpg. There were a couple of similar slides and it's possible I didn't get the right one. I'd be very happy if you used the photo for your book.
