January 2013[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Palisades Center, as we really appreciate your participation. However, portions of the edits had to be reverted, because they were not supported by the source you cited: Specifically, the date of the attraction's construction, and the location on Level 4 where it is located. In addition, for claims about something being the largest of its kind, it is inappropriate to cite as a source the person who built, owns or operated it. Rather, for that type of claim, a secondary source is needed. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 18:42, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please do not add unsourced material to articles, as you did with this edit to American Dream Meadowlands, as this violates Wikipedia's Verifiability policy. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Hi. Thanks for working to improve the site with your edits to Palisades Center, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edits had to be partially reverted, because the MaxPreps and MSG Varsity pages you cited make no mention of Palisades Center. A webpage that mentions the hockey teams does not constitute a valid citation for the fact that they play at Palisades Center.

Also, to write inline citations properly, please see WP:CS. For now don't worry; I've converted the remaining external links you added into inline citations.

Lastly, pages that are cited as sources in the article body should not be redundantly repeated in the External links section, as indicated by WP:External links.

If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 04:26, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

June 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Westfield Garden State Plaza has been reverted.
Your edit here to Westfield Garden State Plaza was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/All-Star_Alphabet#Trivia) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to an external Wiki, then please note that these links should generally not be included (see 'links to avoid' #12).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 15:13, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Better format for web citations[edit]

Hi. It's great that you're adding local NJ info with web citations, but unfortunately they don't display correctly when you put just the bare URL in square brackets. It'd be a huge help if you could post just a bit more info whenever you add a web citation. For example, when you added Graydon Park to the Ridgewood, New Jersey article last week, to get it to display correctly we needed to change your reference from:

[http://www.ridgewoodnj.net/department_detail.cfm?dept_id=41]
==External links==
* [http://www.ridgewoodnj.net/department_detail.cfm?dept_id=41]

to:

<ref>{{cite web |title=Graydon Pool |publisher=Village of Ridgewood |url=http://www.ridgewoodnj.net/department_detail.cfm?dept_id=41 |accessdate=June 11, 2014}}</ref>

If you can follow this format yourself, then your references will automatically display the way they should, and you won't have to repeat them manually under "External links." This will also solve the link problems that Nightscream and XLinkBot were trying to describe above. Thanks, please give it a try! --Patrug (talk) 02:31, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

March 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia, and articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Stare. Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, please use the sandbox instead, where you are given a certain degree of freedom in what you write. Scorpions13256 (talk) 23:24, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Please check on this list that the username you choose has not already been taken.
