Conflict with Walter Gorlitz[edit]

On 3 July I reverted an edit by user:Walter Görlitz. He had - mistakenly, I assume - removed a space between two sentences.[1]. Gorlitz responded by reverting an edit I had made the previous day on Thomas Spira.[2] I had changed Spira's title from "professor emeritus" to "professor." I explained why in my edit summary: "Emeritus is an honorary title awarded when a professor retires. It's not important." I restored my original edit.[3] Gorlitz reverted my edit again and in the edit summary accused me of hounding him.[4] On my talk page, he said I was harassing another user on Thomas Spira.[5] I then posted a message on his talk page, warning him not to revert my edit for a third time.[6] He responded by accusing me of harassing him on his talk page.[7] To be clear, I edited Thomas Spira before Gorlitz ever did. He only arrived on the page after he saw that I had reverted one of his edits on another page, and began reverting me on Thomas Spira, it would could only be perceived as payback for my having reverted him on another page. He's threatening to report me, so I'm laying out my case here in case I need to prove that he's harassing me, not the other way around. 67.71.48.250 (talk) 00:32, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And if you look at User:Walter Görlitz/Ottawa Wikihound you can see the stalking behaviour. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:25, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed repeatedly that you instinctively revert and then stalk unregistered users who are acting in good faith. I have neither the time nor the inclination to go back and find all the times you've done that (though the list of your blocks includes several cases of that). Should I start cataloguing future incidents here? That, too, strikes me as a waste of my time. Why don't you make it easier on both of us and just stop doing it? 67.71.48.250 (talk) 15:53, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed that you've been stalking my edits for at least a year. Let's start with that and stop trying to blame me for your stalking behaviour. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:04, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would take this more seriously if you hadn't accused many editors of staking you. 67.71.48.250 (talk) 18:23, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some Examples of Troubling Behaviour by Walter Gorlitz[edit]

Stalking [user:Afterwriting].[8] Hounding and personal attacks.[9] A habitual pattern of "revert, revert, revert, insult."[10] Following [user:Horizonlove] from page to page in 2018.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/3RRArchive378#User:Walter_Görlitz_reported_by_User:Horizonlove_(Result:_) Hounding and needing to have the last word.[11] The many blocks of Walter Gorlitz.https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/block&page=User%3AWalter+Görlitz Reverting talk page comments related to a dispute he was involved in.[12] Personal attacks.[13][14] Edit wars.[15]

An unregistered user made a constructive edit here:[16]. Immediately after, Gorlitz tweaked the edit, also constructively.[17] He then stalked the unregistered user, reverting edits on two other pages, here:[18] and here:[19]. He also accused the editor, on the editor's page, of being unconstructive ([20]) regarding what was clearly a good faith edit that the user had explained in the edit summary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.71.48.250 (talk) 22:49, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You mean I accused a supposedly constructive editor who was blocked for being unconstructive and edit warring? Seriously, hounding and tracking another users' edits for administrative purposes are different. You have engaged in long term and repeated annoying and unwanted contact as outlined in my user space. I have found problem edits and corrected them. Do not equate my behaviour and yours. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:49, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Look at the user's edit history.[21] There is no evidence of being unconstructive or of edit warring. Here's the block log:[22] The editor has never been blocked. You went after the editor for no rational reason. That's your pattern of behaviour. You've done that repeatedly over the long term, and have been blocked for it many times. Now you're smearing the editor on my talk page. If it was a mistake - if you confused that editor for someone else - say so now. Otherwise I can only assume that you lie and smear others to cover your own tracks. 67.71.48.250 (talk) 13:57, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
