Welcome![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 82.96.34.216, has made edits to James Carville that do not conform to our policies and therefore have been reverted. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors. If you'd like to experiment with the syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

You don't have to log in to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

Some good links for newcomers are:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask the Help Desk, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! Missvain (talk) 20:30, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lynx[edit]

Please be aware that you need to present independent, reliable, published sources to make any factual claims, including common name usage. And neither Wiktionary nor Wikipedia qualify, being crowd-sourced and thus not "reliable" by our metrics. The mention in the lede of lynx is equally unsourced, and I will remove it. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 14:44, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Anaxial. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Caracal, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Anaxial (talk) 19:35, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Flour. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please read, without limitation, MOS:CAPTION and MOS:HYPHEN. Almost every change in this edit created an error. Thanks for being more conscientious regarding Wikipedia's style manual in the future. Julietdeltalima (talk) 19:46, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

August 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (film)—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 10:34, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, you may be blocked from editing. September 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Lilith, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Captainllama (talk) 12:16, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Carpathia[edit]

Carpathia should be mentioned as the "anti christ" in the beginning instead of "antagonist". We have obviously know he was antagonist but not that he was the anti christ. Only1fear (talk) 02:11, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop putting periods on image captions[edit]

Please lern about MOS:CAPFRAGS. Captions that are not complete sentences do not get periods at the end. BlueJag (talk) 19:46, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

November 2020[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make disruptive edits to Wikipedia contrary to the Manual of Style. You've been told about our caption style several times, but you're continuing to add periods[1]. Please do not continue with edits that you know are the subject of a dispute. Hello FMSky, our Sweden-based contributor may have some difficulty with the English language and Wikipedia styling. They a trying to contribute, but not in a useful manner. William Harris (talk) 23:04, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
His edits still almost exclusively consist of adding periods to the end of caption fragments or adding unsourced content, eg changing names.... https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pinocchio_and_the_Emperor_of_the_Night&diff=prev&oldid=1033039735 FMSky (talk) 09:31, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm William Harris. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Norn have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks.

In the English language, we do not put a full stop after a question mark - the question mark ends the sentence. Additionally, for captions on images used on Wikipedia, we do not put a full stop at the end of the sentence - please refer to MOS:CAPFRAG. William Harris (talk) 22:59, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You were warned multiple times not to add periods to image captions when the caption is a sentence fragment, but you've just carried on in the same vein[2]. You are therefore re-blocked. DrKay (talk) 14:15, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
