Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Mztourist (talk) 11:01, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have blocked you both from editing the article for 48 hours. I don't think either of you are going to agree on this, so I would strongly recommend seeking dispute resolution. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:08, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As you went straight back to the article without getting consensus, I have reblocked you from it, this time for 72 hours. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:35, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Fixed a typo. User:Ritchie333 might wanna read the changes before throwing bans around, not doing so is prone to errors :) 8ya (talk) 17:05, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Your edit was edit-warring to reintroduce this change from the 9th. This was literally your first article edit after coming off of your prior block. Yamla (talk) 18:12, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

User:Yamla so fixing punctuation is considered edit warring? Do English sentences end in commas nowadays? Then please revert the edit. 8ya (talk) 18:30, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's not relevant whether or not you are correct. Both sides in an edit war believe they are correct, that's why people edit war. --Yamla (talk) 18:53, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Yamla You are well aware that what got changed never was this comma/period, right? It only got changed after User:Serial Number 54129's mistaken rollback 8ya (talk) 18:55, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning 8ya. May I request your help, please? I hope to offer a third opinion on the dispute, but it would really help me if you could summarise in one sentence (not more, please) what your point of view is. As I understand it, the block does not prevent you doing this, but if it does, please put something here and I will copy and paste it to the article talk page. But I think you can edit the talk page. With all respect and friendly regards, Springnuts (talk) 08:22, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Springnuts Thank you very much for taking your time to step in and help! Sorry for the delayed response, I thought it would automatically send me a notification 8ya (talk) 12:36, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Conscription in South Korea[edit]

I mistakely deleted long words so let me point out simply

1. violation of privacy

-Local law of korea guarantees privacy and it is not right to publish in public whoever violated a law or code in general. There is no english version of this law but you can find it here https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EB%AA%85%EC%98%88%ED%9B%BC%EC%86%90%EC%A3%84#%EC%82%AC%EC%8B%A4%EC%9D%98_%EC%A0%81%EC%8B%9C

- why did you mention only celebrities who tried to evade draft? Are you a yellow journalist who are only interested in celebrities? Draft evasion is totally independent from celebrities so it is not correct to mention 4 celebrities specifically

2. exemption

-there is no exemption in korean conscription in korea check the korean conscription law - art and sports service is an alternative service which is totally unfair and constantly warned by ILO that it is violation of the forced law convention

3. ILO convention/ controversies

- I brought the ILO report that specifically confirm that current conscription violates forced labour convention. - there are number of violation of human right in korean conscription. these have been constantly warned by National human right committee of korean government. - bullying in army was a big issue in korea army, there are many cases which bullying led to sucides. - it is notorious that people with disabilities can be drafted to the army. For example, minor breathing disabilities.

4. Comparisons of figure

- As wikipedia is international, comparing korean conscription with other countries' is possible. - Korea is notorious for its poor salary, high conscription rate nearly 90 percent and poor benefit including the food inside

In conclusion, i provided facts and references. This may insult you and supporters of korean army, but this is the inconvinient truth of korean conscription thank you very much — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.186.176.73 (talk)

Linking Korean references is fine, however Wikipedia isn't a WP:RS, and the article you linked is about defamation?
A lot of your text is your personal opinion, and if there is stuff like "It has been constantly argued that…" "harrassments and substandard wages", "poor benefit", etc. you need to have WP:RS backing it up
I agree with you about Celebrities, however Steve Yoo's case is relevant imo, as it encased an entry ban and even went to the Supreme Court
The ILO stuff is good, but please make sure to properly include references
The comparison is clearly there just to draw parallels to "war crime governments", don't try to pretend otherwise
If you want / need live help https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IRC_help_disclaimer might be of help to you
By the way, I am not a "supporter" of the Korean army, I don't have any special feelings for them =) 8ya (talkcontribs) 14:40, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thnx for the comment. But if you agree on my point why don't you change it to my version and delete what you think not appropriate? +There is law saying that there is no exemption https://www.law.go.kr/%EB%B2%95%EB%A0%B9/%EB%B3%91%EC%97%AD%EB%B2%95 https://www.law.go.kr/LSW//lsInfoP.do?lsiSeq=208449&chrClsCd=010203&urlMode=engLsInfoR&viewCls=engLsInfoR#0000 Check article 3.

+ I did not argue. It is not my personal opinion. It is common thought of fellow veterans, and it really constantly have been argued by many newspaper article in Korea. Search for "군대 가혹 행위" "군최저시급"

https://www.news1.kr/articles/?4360047

Recent Korean news article that victims of crimes will now be compensated by the Korean defense according to the 2nd court (You know 1st is local court, 2nd is statewise court and 3rd is the federal court; you get 3 trials for a legal dispute in democracy)

Well, if you don't undo my changes, it would be possible to add reference/delete a biased voice/finish the article faster. Hence, i undo your undo. Feedbacks are always welcome — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.186.176.73 (talk)

I changed it a bit. I removed stuff like empty headers, without any information in it (like "Those with specialities")
"It has been constantly argued that the conscription in Korea violates basic human law. This includes various kinds of harassments and substandard wages." Going to need citations for that one
"More than 90% of the enlisted are approved to be in a suitable health of the military service of soldier", I don't speak Korean, but doesn't the ref given say only 80%+? (the 병역판정검사결과 현역 처분율 table)

According to the table you are absoulutely right. However, Korean government recently passed a nasty legal detour. This was to sign the convention 29 (the forced labor), thing is/ grade 4 is now able to be drafted for the soldiers which makes the total conscription rate by the definition 98%+. That is ~85 of soldiers and ~10 of pre-soldiers (most of them finish 4 weeks of military draft).

"In South Korea, 10% of all male adults are drafted for non-military purposes as a form of social service agents. 95% of Korean male adults are drafted. 85% are graded 1,2 and, 3, the grades of physical eligibility to be enrolled, while 13% are graded 4, the grade of minor disabilities including depression, moderate hearing and visual impairment and one testicle." Would be nice to have in the article, not the ledge, but please give Citations. (although general % numbers are nice for the ledge)
"This is very exceptional compared to other cases. First, Korea conscripts people with disabilities. Other country such as Mongolia and Egypt only draft healthy volunteers. The conscription rate of Korea is higher than the notorious Nazi germany and Japanese during WWII. Second, Korea is a developed country." Don't add this again please.

If you don't like it, you can delete it, of course. The reason I add this again despite of your last request is followings. There are many human rights issuses not exposed yet escpecially in the system of conscriptions. Most of the resasons comes from our north brothers and west chinese neighbors. I think this is a common paradox of relativeness. So I think it would be great to compare between warmongering countries; and this is based on the FACT. So with many respect, I once more decline your request. You can edit with reason of course.

Also the minimum wages compare badly, since the wages given here are monthly / hourly

Yes, and Korean soldier's official working time is 9 to 6 but usually 3 to 4 hours more under the reason that they did not finish what they should have.

8ya (talkcontribs) 03:20, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please kindly keep all kinds of service forms. This is how actually korean male performs the military services and I will fill in the gap from time to time — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.186.176.73 (talk)

Please don't revert my edits anymore, just add in stuff (without reverting) once you actually fix the issues.
>If you don't like it…
Look I am not a proponent of mandatory conscription either, but those comparisons are just ridiculous. If there are human rights issues about the Korean conscription in particular, include those with citations.
>According to the table you
Then please write so accordingly and properly sourced in the right section (the Enlistment and Impairment one)
8ya (talkcontribs) 07:09, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I undo your edit because you removed my headings 4.2.1 -4.2.3, please DO NOT remove mine as well. +) I don't think you are either for or against to the conscription system in korea, and it does not matter. What matters is to write the FACT and the TRUTH based on the reference, and proofs.

- FOR THE ILO FORCED LABOUR ISSUE. I put the ilo convention and annual report when I first editted this section. If you are interested in, you can read what is inside. This is a legal document explaining the reason why human right issues have been raised in south korea.

Again if you are interested in you can read it. BUT PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR THE REFERECE AGAIN. I already had provided the refence that is ilo south korea annual report 2017. Please don't remove mine as well.

- FOR TYPES OF SERVICE AND PERIOD>

Hey there are several kinds of service types in korea. One of them is the art sports agent which you misunderstood as an exemption. There are more of them with different types of service. (This is the point ilo raised issues) Please don't remove mine as well. I put limited time editting documents. If you erase my section, I think it will take much longer time to write. Please don't remove and I ask for your patience.

Have a nice day!— Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.219.50.14 (talk)

The references you included don't back up what you're saying, please refer to above
I also got limited time so please stop. Don't revert it, only put it back once the issues are fixed.
And please sign your comments with a ~~~~

Otokonoko heads up[edit]

I saw that you replied to Sneaky; they've been blocked from the Otokonoko page and talkpage due to "ongoing disruptive and tendentious editing", so they can't reply to you there. I'm not sure if you're looking for a reply, but if so, you'd need to get in touch with them on their talkpage. NekoKatsun (nyaa) 19:30, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
