Merit badge

You just did a cut & paste move of Merit badge (Boy Scouts of America) to Merit badge— this is not the proper way to do a move and has been reverted. Please see Help:Moving a page for how to properly move a page. Since Merit badge already existed, it would require an admin to do a proper move. I made the move because the disambiguation page lists only two articles: Merit badge (Boy Scouts of America) and Merit badge (Scouting Ireland). I thought it would be simpler if Merit badge was about BSA merit badges, with a note about Merit badge (Scouting Ireland). I am fairly certain that BSA merit badges are what most readers would be looking for, so the disambiguation page doesn't seem necessary to me. If I redirected Merit badge to Merit badge (Boy Scouts of America), it wouldn't result in moving any content. What are your thoughts? 95j (talk) 17:29, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
The way you did it was wrong; it is fixed, and if you learn from the help page, then we are OK. You can propose the move on the talk page and announce it at WP:SCOUT. There are other organizations that use the merit badge system (American Heritage Girls in the U.S.), so there is a potential for other articles. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 18:26, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
I would not support the move if there are other articles about merit badges. However, I am not sure which articles you are referring to. Could you add links to those articles on the disambiguation page? 95j (talk) 18:56, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Other articles do not yet exist, but there is potential. We do have some bias towards the BSA, simply because of the demography of our editors, but we do try to keep appropriate articles global. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 19:17, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
I do understand how the move could be biased towards the BSA. Therefore, I will leave the disambiguation page as it is. Thanks for explaining the situation to me. Status template

I recently added User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate to my userpage, but it doesn't work as it says it should. Specifically, the "update" links are supposed to change the user's status automatically, but they just lead me to the edit window for my status page. I followed all the instructions on the template's page, including adding the appropriate script to my monobook.js page. Several other users have had this problem; see User talk:Hersfold. However, {{statustop}} mentions another script that may work better; I recommend you try that. Robert Skyhawk (T C B) 03:30, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm just curious as to why you did this, as I left in good standing, and I requested that rights be removed. I've removed the email block, which I did just to ensure that if someone were to get into your account (since I assumed you wouldn't be monitoring your Test Wiki account after you resigned), they wouldn't be able to send emails under your name. I apologize if hardblocking wasn't the correct thing to do in your situation; however, you seemed pretty convinced on Skizzerz's talk page that you weren't coming back. 95j (talk • contribs) 03:44, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I always use a strong password, (as I run my own test wiki at this site which you're more than welcome to join, however, hardblocking a user (or even blocking account creation on a good standing user), is inappropriate, as I have done nothing wrong. If someone blocks themselves, it's best to leave the block settings in their current position as they set the settings themselves and have probably thought things through already. You seem to think that I disabled account creation for you as well (was that your IP who left a message on my Test Wiki talk page?), but according to your block log, you disabled account creation in your original block. I'm not sure what you're trying to say. I was unable to create Impact Pro Wrestling NZ as a redirect to Impact Pro Wrestling, because it is protected so that only an admin can create it. I'm not an admin, but the main page would never be redirected, as that would cause major confusion for readers.
