January 2010[edit]

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Food power, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Thank you for explaining your deletion. I have restored the material, however, as your removal is not consistent with policies. The text is based on reliable sources and meets verifiability. Specifically, it refers to Robert Paarlberg, "Food as an Instrument of Foreign Policy", Academy of Political Science, Vol. 34, No. 3, Food Policy and Farm Programs, 1982 and Peter Wallensteen, "Scarce Goods as Political Weapons: The Case of Food", Journal of Peace Research, 1976, Vol. 13. If there are reliable sources that question their reporting, these can be introduced, but it is inappropriate to remove material because we personally disagree with it. This constitutes "original research" and is forbidden by one of Wikipedia's core content policies, Wikipedia:No original research. You might also discuss your concerns with the material at the talk page of the article, Talk:Food power. Blanket removal of sourced content does not appear constructive. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:24, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comments about my intelligence are also inappropriate (see Wikipedia:Civility), and moreover beside the point as I did not write any of the material in that article. I simply noticed your removal of sourced content out of process. Wikipedia has dispute resolution processes if you disagree with content. You cannot simply remove material that you personally find displeasing, but must work within the community. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:27, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
